Maybe I’m dumb, but I don’t actually see the problem here, why would you pick a tech stack as an intern, that’s up to your senior to decide, I feel like anyway. Whenever an intern joins our team with a whole new project we already have specs and a tech stack ready for them.
-
Complaining about things and people I assume 😆
-
Mac users are much the same in that regard
-
@NotJeckel, those miners took these diamonds for free, the least they can do is give them out for free.
-
If that’s what knocks you down you’d be in for a real depression starter where I work 😅
-
I’m just honest, if they like it, cool otherwise, too bad. It’s not something to subject to others opinions IMO
-
I saw the button and instantly thought of a slider, taping didn’t even cross my mind. I think I’m on the wrong side of things here 😅

I personally don’t have any friends or any person close to me convinced that we should be proud to speak French because it’s typically an attitude that I despise (nationalism etc…). I can’t speak for everyone but whatever you’re mentioning is definitely dying out with the older generations
-
@Ibfalvy it’s kind of a vicious loop actually. Foreigners who absolutely massacre French tend to make French people not have the patience to deal with it, and then foreigners get less support to learn French and the cycle goes on. The correcting your spelling and grammar is kind of culture thing tho, we do it among each other’s so it’s definitely not targeted.
-
@ibfalvy, the truth about French people is that we get shit English education, and because we are not as immersed into the English speaking world as much as other countries most people don’t bother. What you see as pride is a facade to hide the fact they just can’t speak English very well, and for some reason it’s a shame here. So they never try and all have a terrible level. Although I will say that it’s much better than it used to be some decades ago.

Despite what many tourist agencies and people will tell you Paris is a hell hole, don’t live there, don’t work there.
-
It’s not harder than in the US, but then again i have only minimal experience in the US job market. I’m from France and I’ll say there’s a steady demand of developers here. If I had to give an advice on techs you could focus on for this very country it would be the .NET environment + js/ts and react.

I don’t know how your company operates but here we work by pairs e.g there’s always someone with a specific set of skills available. We also tend to document regular things we do, along with some documentation for other more technical things (god I hate writing these). That way you’re almost never disturbed out of work and even less in vacations.
It feels almost strange to me that other companies don’t operate like that. -
Then you’ll blow up eventually
-
Oddly enough I can relate to the bank card situation 😂
-
Muscle memory or the art of typing passwords without even remembering them
-
1, or 2 if you count the laptop. I found out that having more than one main screen tends to distract me more than help me. So even for my personal setup I only use one screen.
-
I absolutely despise coding interviews that end up taking more time than the interview itself. It’s even more annoying if you’re already working 7-8h a day. Yeah sorry I’m not gonna bother with your thing that’s most likely never gonna be used again and that will make me waste my precious limited free time. It’s also never paid…
-
Yeah nah, they’re not the same
-
I really like this idea actually, for some reason it got me creative

To answer your “why”, japan is a society where age matters a lot. Politeness and the way you’re addressed directly derives from your age. It’s very common in Japan to ask as an opener how old is the person.
Also as for any western company it could have just been used to figure out how close you are to retiring, or just like others said what stage of your life are you in? E.g are you young, potentially moving a lot, or maybe older and settled. -
Strangely enough my team is about 50/50, hell my tech lead is a female and my project manager is also a female. I was pretty surprised when I started working there, it’s just so rare
-
Err, he won more money than his opponent but they were both recognized guilty of diffamation to some degree
-
I was almost agreeing with the person in the screenshot until I saw js
-
Dude yes!!! They were showing a bunch of html and some c# imports 😂
-
Secure like C ????
-
@magicmirror I do agree with your categories, I usually just take into account everything that I know look for new techs and stuff before doing anything. Can’t say I’ll implement everything from scratch unless there is something like heavy workloads or a specific demand that can’t be used with other existing techs though. Not sure if it’s an exaggeration but surely there’s no point in reinventing the wheel each time unless needed.

The description killed me 😂
-
Didn’t really like the guy from the start so 😂
-
Top of the world baby 😎
