Grumm18052yNo particular feature. It is just a win10 in new cloths.
Only reason is : free.
I upgraded from win7 to win10 for free and now from 10 to 11 for free.
+ enough security support for the future. -
Zone support for window dragging on ultrawides out the box. Win10 only had it with fancyzones, which ran separately and wasn't the most reliable thing going. Win11 one is far nicer.
Don't know if I'd switch just for that, but on my work machine I didn't have a choice, so... 🙃 -
Did it cuz of hype. Then left for linux cuz it made everything from windows 10 worse.
Also i liked the design of win11 over win10. But was bait... cuzz
Like even file explorer crashing all the time when browsing it? My Pc is quite avarage and plays games at ultra but file explorer freezes... then also the bloatware in the app menu.. tiktok shortcuts? So much trash.. then how difficult it was to change default browser...
If it wasnt for win11 i may be still be a windows10 user not a linux user. -
C0D4681452yNo feature made me, windows made me 😅
I even put the start menu back to W10 mode because fuck that centered shit.
Honestly, it's a step backwards from 10, the file explorer is a piece of shit, I use files.community instead, the window manager doesn't bother me, I use most things full screen anyway.
Microsoft Powertoys does everything windows is actually missing. -
sariel85342yCurrently running 11 on a surface I got a few months ago.
I agree with everything @C0D4 said.
Just to add, 11 will not find its way to my other devices unless work requires it on their hardware.
I see exactly where MS is going with their walled garden of bullshit and I'm getting off the train before there's no more track. -
Grumm18052y@C0D4 You can set the start menu on the left in win11 -- NEVERMIND is that called win10 mode ? xD. No need for that centered shit (I hate that too)
Using powertoys on win10 already too. So never had problems with zone support or other stuff.
Only extra tool I use is to see the time and date on all my screens (default that is not possible) -
MS decided my laptop - that can absolutely run Win11 perfectly fine - isn't supported due to the CPU, so no, I haven't upgraded. But, if I WAS going to upgrade, the only thing I can think of that might make it worth anything is the Android app support. I could see that maybe being useful to some degree.

@fzammetti u can easily make ur pc compatible by disabling the checks (very easy) and it boots up without any errors for it. Kinda an artificial barrier to force a security chip that isnt even required to run an os. Also the android app support is very limited

I got a Surface Laptop Studio, win11 pre-installed. I COULD NOT DEAL WITH IT.
Cleaned it up and installed Windows 10, n did that registry thing that blocks the auto-updates to a certain release coz im definitely not dealing with 11 :v
They ruined the taskbar. And the notifications. And Start in general. If I had to deal with UI this bland, I'd be using Fedora rn -
@joewilliams007 Oh yeah, for sure. I just don't want to do that and risk losing updates (I know they haven't pulled that lever yet, but I don't put it past them).

Earu5702yPersonally I like the new look. Yeah yeah it’s macos bootleg but you know what I like it. You can say what you want macOS understands design. So I think it’s a step in the right direction to standardize their UI IMO.

To you, who use Windows 11. Is there at least one feature that makes you glad you switched from 10 to 11? Or maybe not necessarily glad, but it would make you appreciate the new OS? One thing that would make the upgrade worth it... I myself can not think of a single fucking thing. (Please don't say better HDR support, that's the one most often mentioned feature. Definitely not good enough reason to have a new OS)
question
pile of shit
windows 10
windows 11
