@sam0 just finished a university project. If you want to cover basic aspects of C++ I recommend cplusplus. Com
-
But "but aren't you studying with computers? You are sitting I front of one all day. Now tell me how to sign up on Facebook"
-
Oh boy, at least you won't be disappointed
-
Probably because you show more love to your side projects and you usually learn things you want to learn trough them. Plus when you are finishing them it fills you with the joy of accomplishment rather than the feeling you get when something is just, done.
-
Stickers!!
I'd agree about a year ago. Now I'm a phase that every project seems fascinating. Of course I'm learning new things and all. If it was routine and mundane stuff then yeah I would never get into the zone -
People judging it saying it's gross. It's pure genius and you all know you have though about it. Amirite?
-
Nah guys it's a dead slot probably. When I go to my house where I study I'll check if there maybe any pins bent or something but it's probably dead. Thanks for the interest.
-
@asgs yeap pretty much
-
Don't worry, it's me the actual Nick again, it was a tough battle but the spy has been taken care of. For programming *salutes* @stisch
-
I see your beer and Minecraft and I raise you pita gyros and Rick and Morty. Have a good one lads.
-
Hey, that's pretty wierd
-
Ahahaha best Triple A developer ever. Seriously in the game Dev community you can find a lot of dick Triple A level high horse. He is probably using unity btw
-
Existence is pain
-
I did that too when I was in my first year in my Uni. Got to say it's pretty hard to start off not for the jobs but you can't keep a balance between uni and work,(at least I could not).
My advice is to have some sort of portfolio to showcase what you know and always personally write them about you and your plan and all those extra fields that are in the former (assuming you are in freelancer. com)
Since I'm a hobbyist game Dev I had a portfolio and I could get easier work + because I was in need for money at the time I used to take the lowest reward 3 days deadline and try to get at least 2 jobs every week.
So in the end, start making your stuff at your ease, maybe go to some hackathons and other competitions to get to know what's like to be up 24-48 hours. Build a portfolio and you'll be ready. Of course you can just spam jobs till you get some and build your portfolio from there. -
Agh I can feel it. I can feel the cringe. I know how you feel man I used to endure that when I was in high school. God damn it
-
I know, I hate people peeking on my screen whether I write code or not. He might be weird , or maybe like you know.. He might creepily like you. Good luck fam
-
OK.
-
These weekly rant posts keep getting weirder and weirder.
-
@code exactly couldn't say it better. That's the consequences I was talking about. @darksideplease
-
Sure but Idk. I never really had a problem with people copying me. Since it will either help them get to learn some programming (even in the last minute) or it will show up that they are newbs later. I respect the fact that someone doesn't want to get copied and possibly suffer the consequences, this I find kind of extreme, smart? Maybe, but extreme
@darksideplease -
But also kinda sad
-
Nah, you can't be. After all you are using the coolest app around, DevRant
-
Practice makes best fam don't give up 💪
-
I feel you man, it had some weird problems yesterday (my family's home connection) and couldn't even connect to my database for a uni project
-
@jonnyserra it's at the spelling errors where one can find the purest of rants.
-
Lucky, I'm stuck with a uni project 😐
-
@garrettw because they desperately want you back
-
Usually when I write something with no bugs/problems I'm getting scared and paranoid. So it might be for the best.
-
Not sure what's up but you could check out if the reason is CORS on chrome
-
@thiagoavadore I'm just a university student, have only worked as a freelancer and on some personal projects so I wouldn't really know, but maybe a reason for that is that programming/engineering is very 'in' these days. I have seen lots of students being engineers with no idea what even the uni is about just because it's engineering. So maybe they start changing jobs so quick when they fall under the pressure, since, I don't think many people have the determination to work as programmers if they don't love what they do and from what I hear being a Jr developer/researcher etc doesn't mean it's easy.
