After 2 weeks of being unemployed, I finally got a job offer today and accepted! New title is Automation Specialist2

Favorite IDE: Xcode
Text Editor: Atom
Reasons: Xcode is was I was “first” introduced to on my own.
Atom just seems really smooth and I enjoy using it.1 -
So I’m thinking about going back to school in the next couple of years to get my degree in CompSci.
Unsure which route to follow tho.
Any suggestions?2 -
I’m interested in learning Ruby on Rails. I’d like to know if I’m wasting my time with learning it?6

Is it possible to build your own streaming site? I’m trying to build something so I can stream directly to my website instead of having to use mixer/twitch etc5

My fiancé bought me a new laptop for my birthday. Not the greatest but it works. I put Mint 19.X (don’t know which version but latest) on it and I’m in love.

For the first time in a very long time. I’m actually motivated to start developing something.
Now just coming up with something to develop is what I need help with2 -
Some of the best mentoring has actually been from the devRant community on how not to get burned out as a developer.
Take it section by section. Don’t spend a lot of time on one part. Work on it for a bit then move on to a new part and so on.
Thanks devRant Community -
How do I deal with low motivation? Ask me when I find out because I haven’t been motivated to do anything in awhile.

Just redid my setup, first time in a year. What do y’all think?

Since I’ve started this new job (Restaurant Server) I haven’t had much time to code and it’s annoying.3

Realizing my currently degree plan will not transfer to a 4 year university where I can get my bachelors, I have decided to stop taking all tech classes and focus on the classes that will transfer such as English, Calc, History and Government.5
-
So I’m working on an iOS app and added some ‘lazy var’ turns out I didn’t add them underneath the class.
I spent the better half of 30 mins figuring out why it wouldn’t work. -
!Rant but kind of a rant.
So I’m currently throwing around the idea of building a messaging application for iOS just to practice coding and what not. It seems like I do a lot of work on it like making sure the login screen works and other stuff but I get burned out pretty easily.
Any tips on how to not get burned out as easily when starting a new project?3 -
Once again the department head fucks up my degree plan!
I'm getting my associates degree in Cyber Security. So we have to take networking courses and what not. So my institution recently became a Cisco certified teaching establishment or something along the lines of that.
The department head said that everyone who was enrolled in classes before the upcoming fall semester would have to take the new Cisco networking classes and not switch to the new degree plan. (We would take 3 Cisco classes instead of the new degree plan which is 5 or 6) so we planned and register for those classes.
Now he comes back and says we don't have to take those new classes. So it just fucks up the whole shit.
Switching to the new degree plan would add like 3 semesters to my total semester count and I'm supposed to graduate. August 2018
Fuck this new shit. Even tho I need Cisco.
I plan on taking The Cisco classes after I graduate with my associates degree while I'm going to a university for a dual degree in Software Engineering and Cyber Security -
Worst part about Swift 3, is searching on StackOverflow for the answer to a question but it's written in Swift 1 and it's not compatible11
-
I've worked with SWIFT for a good amount of time. I can't say that I'm a great developer in the language or any language for that matter but I think I should learn PYTHON first. What do you guys think?

!Rant about dev but a rant about one of my classes
