The only reason you would do that kind of heavy client side computation is if your app behaves based on what the client is using (browser, IP address, software, hardware etc.). Other than that I don’t see a reason why you would do any heavy computation in the front end. Your client should be as dumb as possible and should just do dumb CRUD http calls.

@C0D4 What if your manager (formerly a senior developer) says they know how long the task takes and wants you to do it in their stated timeline?
-
@vintprox What do you mean by “give yourself a bar”?
-
Popcorn, while watching the shitty code other devs introduce in the codebase.
-
I think because you said - “Alexa Stop” , your alexa heard that phrase and stopped? Not because you told google that phrase? Possible right?
-
I’m surprised how you have access to push to master, unless you are the only one working
-
Whenever i get some unusual long pain at 1 point in my body. I always get scared and suspect its cancer just cuz thats the only shit that we dont have a cure for yet 😖
-
Also add the word - Revolutionary Technology

I believe everything happens for a good reason. When I was finding a new job, i got this interview scheduled and when the day came, i just didn’t want to go to the interview because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make the change. My wife pushed me and I woke up, got ready lazily and drove to the interview following every speed limit as I could. I even got a call from the interviewer asking me what happened. I carelessly replied - Yeaa I am stuck in traffic, i’ll be there soon. I mean who talks like that to your interviewer lol. As soon as I entered their office and realized their culture and work environment, I wanted the job very badly as I felt really good being there along with the work they were doing. Since that moment I started doing my best to win the interview. Guess what? I am working there now and happy as ever. I now think it has been the best decision ever. Things happen for a reason. That’s what I believe in. Stay strong.

Can I just have your phone for a sec so I can clear all those notification badges? :))))))
-
@devTea shitty dev env? :p
-
@ribchinski the bottom one happened to me when i installed Android Studio and tried to run a hello world project Lol
-
Docker?
-
The bottom situation happens to me with Java. That's why I HATE Java.
-
You almost got me thinking there is a new social network - fesabook. I was excited for a second thinking finally there might be something less cluttered than facebook 😂
-
Well, I would take it as a little break. As long as you are getting paid as per a developer but get to do those little things, you could take a small break but get paid too. Just saying.
-
@gathurian yes have been playing with ionic's amazing UI components and a little iritating navcontroller since morning. Also learnt how to make push notifications work along with learning all the painful steps to just make a cordova app be able to be published in the app store and play store. (It was easier for the play store)

@JoshBent this was started by the manager. I am currently in the "good view" spot but my manager wants to move me but I don't want to. I caught the CTO while he was walking to a meeting and told him I don't want to change and that's when he told me to talk to the manager. I am sorry if I am confusing you.
-
@JoshBent I just did. Just slacked him this - I spoke to r***** about my desk place. She says I have to move and I should be with the tech team. She says she did not get to choose her desk so I won't get to choose mine. I like to work at my current desk and I think I feel very productive here. I will leave the decision up to you. If you think I should still move then I will move but it will effect my productivity being cornered and I will definitely be unhappy about it.
-
@JoshBent I raised it to the CTO but he told me to talk to the manager lol. In my employment letter, the CTO is my "Supervisor" but the CTO always asks me to talk to the other lady who I am stating here as my manager.
-
@JoshBent I work for a non-profit. We have a small team of 8 tech people with me and the CTO as the only developers. We use slack for team comm. I always prefer walking to the respective person if I have any not so important questions. In that way I get to do some walking rather than sit all the time. But I was told that I don't get to choose my sitting spot (desk)
-
Nice.
-
Awesome! Now you get to do another project where you can code more efficiently than your previous project 😜
-
What my reply to him was - If it was done in the bad way before, that doesn't mean you have to continue the bad way now. It might take sometime to refactor the full app but what I told the team was to rename the variables whenever they come across such bad variable names.
-
By the way it was a good position paying $120,000 as a Senior AngularJS Developer (should be very strong in native Javascript as well). Let me know if u stay in Los Angeles ;)
-
Lol "fuck in the rectum at a 90 degree angle"
-
@Ashkin oh yea I knew what boilerplate in the dev world meant but did not know what it meant when referencing to legal stuff. Thanks though :)
-
@alecjd what do you mean by boilerplate contract?
-
In hindi it would be more of a "JAA APNI BAJAA" translating to "Go fuck yourself"
-
What i have noticed in my life is - If you understand something properly, you can never forget it. You will remember it even if someone wakes you up in the middle of your sleep and asks you about it. You will also remember something forever when you face a lot of problem with something and after a lot of hardwork you find the solution for it. You will not remember something in 2 cases and thats if you dont understand it completely or you just dont care.
