Btw, if you ever have to implement an Excel worksheet (or whatever it is called), and it has to work on all language versions of Excel, this is the way you have to do it. At least in 2010.
I really don't understand why the local function names aren't just aliases to the original functions... -
Isn't that what we all do?
-
@Neat There's like 8 that you use regularly. Using them is rather straightforward.
push, pull, fetch, commit, rebase, merge, add, rm
They all have a few interesting bells and whistles, but those are logical after you've used them.
checkout, reset, stash and remote are also very useful, but I don't use them nearly as much. Useful for fuckups and maintaining your own forks. -
@VonKavalier Yeah all the buttons and clickety click is too confusing compared to just typing the commands.
I usually view the diffs online if I care about them. Most of the time I don't, but sometimes. -
I can think of one use case for Git GUI.
Diffs.
No one reads diffs on the command line. Fuck all that. -
I didn't even vote. Now I have to downvote to battle your upvote.
-
Downvoted for Comic Sans.
-
But imagine the variable names.
"What does 'a1' mean? Oh it's just the user password salted and hashed, but 'securePassword was too long to write." -
No way that beer is going to work. Inviduals are different and tolerance...
-
If your friend writes like that, he/she isn't going to fit as a developer.
-
@renegade Let me know when you have 8000+ lines of well-written markup that will be generated to CSS.
You'll encounter some problem by then :')
IE11: "Say what, other browsers render this flexboxed thing just fine and wrapping works too? Well FUCK YOU because you didn't give me a dedicated width attribute." -
Aaaaand since --no-preserve-root is a thing, and that isn't even ran as root, nothing terrible happens.
-
If you're going to game, that'll do "decently" for about a year. 960M is not a good card.
-
Somone used your morning cereal as a litterbox apparently.
-
You should leave. Based on your other rants the company doesn't deserve you.
-
For gods sake, if you actually use C in your work you're probably treated as a programming god, but this is just bull****. You can create obscure one-liners in every language, where would you use this kind of code?
-
Learn to use grep, possibly with regular expressions. Should take a few minutes tops, and if you go snooping around the source to see where it actually is should make finding it easier too.
But it only gets fun if the > is added dynamically via JavaScript, good luck finding that 😭 -
Sure, C and C# are the same thing! Like Java and JavaScript!
-
I can't stand bootstrap. Yet some designers clearly design sites based on bootstrap.. Luckily no one here does it. Jeet.gs is awesome and kicks every framework and grid system in the teeth.
-
Don't touch it if you know what is good for you. And you value your job.
-
Fuck vertical-align. Useless POS. Transform & relative position is my friend if flexbox isn't an option.
-
@h3ll you can configure iterm 2 to behave like guake. And it's a lot better.
-
+ a skilled designer to provide high quality resources! I can write a fully functioning vastaa content slider from scratch in half an hour, but when it comes to making websites look nice without designer made layouts? Fuck that.
-
Anyone that doesn't use two spaces is a monster. Period.
And I use the tab key, I've just mapped ot to two spaces in my editor. -
thanks m8, I can manage with the autohotkey dependency, and I can always just build it into an exe!
-
@phunky would you mind sharing said shortcuts? I'll give you a virtual cookie.
-
No, but seriously, why would you use LESS when there is SCSS and Stylus?
-
GUYS. THIS GUY IS USING LESS?!
-
Try using a proper editor like Sublime or Atom. I have not used a HTML validator in years to find problems.
-
And kids, that's why you don't use pingdom.
