Finally solved the most elusive bug I have ever encountered.

It only occurred in chrome and the reason I could never recreate it is because it didn't happen when developer tools was open WTF!

Try solving an apparent JS bug without your console - I've never been this happy/relieved!

A colleague currently has a cold and takes a deep, wet sniff every 10 seconds or so rather than just blowing his fucking nose - he even (politely) refused a tissue I offered him WTF?!
