It's dangerous to go alone! Take this OS; menthor, zuba, arcanos, y.w.f, d.a.k, melt, bold, sparky, splat, dev/null, #, freeze-no-more, aha!, lezo, one OS to rule them all..., luff, celebOS, nit, !falseOS, lorem ipsum, hello world, 4231486392, jaOS?, whatif, tuxor, Mac n' cheese, <os>

Day light and meat for me too!! But I've been there in those dark pale nights, endlessly stroking my keyboard and hoping that the almighty compiler would make sense of it. Who am I kidding? I just wrote some Ruby stuff, no need for compiling but the tests took quite a while to run...

@Cyanite what kind of project are you working on?
It gotta be hard without caffeine :|
I'm not really an exercise guy, but sometimes it helped me when I needed an energy boost and couldn't use coffee or anything else, just a little walk might be enough to get it going, it helps if you have a dog that won't stop asking until you go out with him :D
In some of my worst days he was the only reason I would be able to get out of bed, it was a tough process. -
@runfrodorun that's a hell of a boot! I which I had your badassness hahaha
-
@DivByZero I understand and that's one of the points that made me work from home and be able to better enjoy the full extend of my days. Unfortunately I know that this is not always possible, but it's what I aim for :)
-
@Cyanite that's good to hear. You know what, bad days are inevitable, shit happens, usually more than we would want it to, but good days are also inevitable, good moment happens. I'm not sure why some people try so hard for a never ending happiness, I much prefer tranquility, after you've been through so many hard moments you start to learn that they ain't forever and that you're capable of moving forward. Despite thinking that you ain't this or that, it really seems like you got things done and that's really good, at some point you'll start appreciating your abilities and recognize the good work that you've done with what you had at the time.
Damn, and here I'm writing a TLTR comment again :) -
These kind of rants get me confused, I never know if it's alright to ++ them or not...
But I can relate, been through some dark periods myself, usually things tend to get better, but who knows. Good luck and keep on posting, as you said, it's better to get these things out. -
He seems like an alright guy.
-
Where's the "check" that you actually write code?
-
@ryanmhoffman it barely is able to navigate the internet, I doubt it has any tracking abilities...
-
It really depends, if you work from home it might be easier. My breakfast is simple, just coffee with bread or something else, I don't like to eat that much in the morning. Then lunch is the biggest meal I have, I started cooking last year, so now I can have it ready in less than 30min, it just requires practice and taking some time. Dinner can be anything, it really depends on my mood. If you work from home you just need to organize your time to allow doing those things, if working in an office and having to drive home is a completely different story, but it can be done, or you might go to some healthy restaurants, this wouldn't be that cheap but it's an option if you don't want to take your time to cook.

TIME TO OBLITERATE!!!!

Hahaha I have a friend who would say the exact opposite!
-
@luigiAndMario stupidity is limitless

So the time machine needed that package, so he had to fix it in the past (current present), so that it would work and he could solve the problem in the server?
-
Imagine if Google crawler finds that url...
-
Will we become an android? I would like to be an apple :D
-
I use 100gb for my /home partition and still got some GBs of free space. Download n destroy all the way :)
-
What's your company website? Just for research purposes :)
-
@rantalicious it will. But it deserves some maintenance, it is on my plans for this year. Dogs in the setup are great, they can be used as debug ducks too :D
-
@ramisa thanks! :)
-
@g-m-f hahaha he's one of a kind
-
@runfrodorun hahaha yeah. Well I use my vostro always connected, it's more like a desktop than a notebook right now :)
-
@runfrodorun thank you very much, that was exactly what I was looking for. It's more that I was quite surprised by the numbers and wanted to know if they really made a difference in the real world of not. So it's more like I suspected, get a good SSD and loads of RAM, well that make things easier.
Thanks again for your great answer! -
@runfrodorun have you used or is using a U processor? Are they really ok for dev jobs? I ask because in the cpubenchmark they got a lower score than even some 12' or 13' processors...
-
Probably the ThinkPads will be your best option, just watch out for those U processors.
-
I've experienced some of those weird glitches, some stuff get unconfigured when updated. Right now I'm too lazy to search for another distribution or version, most of them have a really bad UX/UI
-
@matsaki95 hahaha that's right. I know that writing code in paper is quite boring and even worst when they want everything to be 100%, but the good part is that you start to care about details.
