First off, cupcakes and a figurine are nice to receive as a work christmas gift! ☺️ I wouldn’t be sad about that!
But if you feel truly compelled to do something, you could treat her to lunch one day (assuming you’re comfortable enough doing so). Tell her that her gift really touched you with how much thought she put into it, so you wanted to treat for lunch as a gesture of gratitude.
If you don’t really know her or if that would be awkward to do, I think you’re fine leaving things as is! There’s always next year! Plus, you provided a gift, it’s not like you forgot! -
@SidTheITGuy I mean, fair. I’m probably just being a salty crybaby who dreams of having a real Christmas break. BUT, the dev work is done and most PRs are approved, though. We’re towards the end of Sprint and the freeze was sprung on us at random. I work for a huge publicly traded company that also requires CABs for literally EVERYTHING, so nothing my front-end team works on will be allowed to go live. They’re pretty serious about this freeze. 🧊

My prior company had a PM who was a total bitch, negative as hell, and would do shit just to make her own metrics look good. She didn’t care about customers or rules at all.
She would approve website launches without the clients consent, swear and get into verbal arguments with clients over the phone, and make everyone’s life a living hell.
I honestly think they kept her on so long because nobody wanted to deal with firing her due to how volatile & bitchy she was. -
@sariel Sorry you had to deal with that!

It’s normal in my company to have a separate ticket per issue for the same project. Perhaps the QA team assumes you don’t have time for calls, which will likely become the case as your company and work load grows. It’s annoying to tackle multiple tickets BUT it is nice to have your work documented somewhere. It comes in handy when you have to switch tasks/projects or need receipts for future issues/proof of work.
The sending it out to all the higher ups part was a bit of a dick move, however. UNLESS the project is collaborative and they too had a hand in it. -
Sounds like a shit company that is lacking structure and proper training. I would look for something else, if you can and want to.
I worked for a soul sucking place that did the same shit and it sucks all the life + humanity out of you. I’ve been with a new company for 2 years that has decent training and actually gives a shit about people & pay - it’s night and day.
Hugs! 💜 -
@ChristoPy Great ideas! I definitely need to get outside more and take more breaks!
-
Awesome! 💕

I like his little chain lol!

Truuuth.

I get this all the time. My personal favorite is when they say they hate their current site and want a whole new look, so you make them something clean and modern based off what they said they wanted. Then they hate it and basically want their current site rebuilt with the color of one button changed! 😂🙈
-
My personal favorite is being a web developer, front end, with all my skills listed and recruiters constantly reaching for software developer jobs or some other offshoot IT role. Like NO, not the same thing. Do your research, k thanks!

How sweet! She’s a keeper! 💕

😂😜

@rEaL-jAsE I'm talking about one drive or whatever their lame version of google docs is. We have a ton of issues with the online docs, especially excel.
-
That Eminem reference, though! 👌
-
@goamk laughing is good & all, but every day for hours on end watching crap you shouldn't be and laughing non stop, well.... not so much
-
@desirous Oh my gosh lol. I had a weirdo in my college classes who would fart during tests. 😖🙊
-
@wateringdisease I wish! You have to meet dumb metrics to work from home (on Tuesdays), based on stuff out of our control 🙄
-
@BlackSparrow thankfully, no lol
-
@AleCx04 Aww! Haha 😂😁😉 Glad I can give other's a chuckle!
-
@Phlisg haha, well my Darth is a dude but my sympathies! We all have our issues, I suppose. Just sucks when someone is bad enough to send you over the edge, especially when you can't zone out and code due to them.
-
@shantnuchaubey Have one, sorry.
-
Awesome! Haha Have fun on your adventures! Low key jealous!
-
@simo002m he was just talking about his dental surgery and being high on the drugs and said he dreamed I was in a bathtub and some other dude team member was laying across a bar 🤷🏼♀️😂 nobody wants to know their boss dreamed of them taking a bath, especially when opposite gender
-
@taylorviktorya nah, he's very open person. I don't feel he meant it creepy probably slipped out before he realized how it sounded, but he's just the type of red humor person
-
Awwww 😍

@karakamen No time, unfortunately. I run a gaming blog and Facebook page as well as a beauty blog and YouTube channel, plus I'm a makeup artist on weekends, AND I have to support a few freelance clients, all on top of my 9-5. 😰
