@magicdoe I feel ya. I think a part of why I feel somewhat "bad" is that I actually like it here. But I know I won't dislike it at the new place(got several friends working there) and holy amazeballs, I'm looking at earning between 800-900 bucks more every month... Seems like a stupid move not to take it(since I propably will be offered a job), just because I feel bad for a minor economic backslash to my current employeer :/

@Aitkotw I mostly just think they aren’t that aware of the previous code. When they say ”look how we did in previous code”, it seems like they’ve forgotten how big the codebase actually is, and how many people has been working on it over the years 😅

For work... I’ll just build a desktop. Did that at my last workplace. Sent my boss a a online shopping cart, he ordered, I build it.

If portability isn’t a requirement, there is no reason to buy a laptop. But if someone needed a laptop, I guess a XPS 15, since Mac was forbidden

For a laptop, I go more for the total package that any benchmark. Went from a Lenovo y50 to a MacBook Pro 13” Mid 2014. Never going back on the laptop-side. UNIX-based OS, great screen, great keyboard and great trackpad. Shit, I even put an SSD in a MacBook Pro 15” mid 2010 and OSX ran smoother on it than my collegues new 1400$ HPs

Both. Generelly GUI(why replace a push of a button with typing a command?). Visual Studios GUI at work, Gitkraken at home. Though sometimes the GUI is the slower way for some task, or something isn’t implemented and then I use CLI.

@TheNewGuy Oh absolutely, passing time I can do(though it’s hard), but I find it stressfull getting paid for not working 😣 But I’m currently working on a graphical JS-implementation of Dijkstra's algorithm and a bigger personal project if I have to wait a long time 🙂

The CEO might have a bloody heart attack 😅 But hey, gotta put myself first 🙂

@iAmNaN Ya. Our routines are way better now. Everyone can make a mistake, and we should have been able to return to proper backups. Though this was pretty early on the company. No routines, new machines 😅 Today that colleague is allowed to work with the databases freely. Servers though... nah, I'll manage those myself 😅
