@TeachMeCode Our tickets only have a title, no description. It's horrendous & painful.
-
@spongessuck Holy shit thats brilliant, thanks.
-
@arcioneo Wrong. So wrong.
There is absolutely no need to fork a repository when you’re working in a small team who all are familiar with the code base.
“Ghost branches” are easily avoidable with some basic discipline. Also, most source control management systems allow you to delete branches once they’ve been merged.
Forking makes it incredibly annoying to checkout someone else’s work to validate they have implemented something correctly. This means for every person that forks the repo, you need to clone their forked repo to checkout their work. THIS IS STUPID. -
@lotd Yeah man. 10 second fix. Revert the PR. But nooooo, we have to make it a bigger issue than it is.
-
You are one big fat malaka!!
-
Glad to hear it mate. I’ve worked for some pretty horrid companies in my lifetime. One day I sent an email saying that I quit and that all my company equipment could be found on my desk. Then I just walked out. Was an amazing feeling.
-
@Bandic00t You read my mind. That’s great.
-
Plenty of time to sleep when you’re dead brah
-
@zemaitis I might live in a country that has silly real estate prices. I might have a kangaroo brain.
But you live in Lithuania. -
@zemaitis My man. You’re dealing with an Australian here. Also you’re from Lithuania. Your economy is shit house mate 😂
-
@zemaitis “my man, find better things to be pissed about”. Box me you absolute mud shark I would decimate you. Go suck down a star bucks you weasel.
-
Whisky is the best. I love lagavulin 16 but it’s a bit hard to find in Australia these days.
-
@sariel Only 65? I finished 127 tickets and have another 482 in the TODO column
-
“It can be done in JavaScript”. Ok then do it you absolute mud shark of a person
-
That’s why I get drunk on whisky.
-
@Stuxnet I’ve gotten fat, lazy and mentally ill. But I still love it!!

I remember working with a lady that didn’t natively speak English and she’d always ask in our team chat for someone to “send Jason” and we had a guy called Jason in our team that always responded “What?”
It made that job slightly more bearable -
I remember I was hired as a react developer and the org I was working for needed someone to fill the gaps and help out with writing the backend code (c#). I said yes because I wanted to help the team out. Biggest mistake of my life
-
If it’s a large organisation it can be difficult to tell because you might shuffle around and work in different teams. One day you might have a good team and the next a dogshit one.
If you won’t be shuffling around and you’ll have a consistent team then the best way to gauge the toxicity of the team is simple. All you need to do is ask your interviewer if it’s possible to meet the people you’ll be working with so you can gauge if you’re a good culture fit. If you can get a meeting arranged with them, violently abuse them and then see how they respond. -
This made me lol hard
-
@Oktokolo Fair point
-
This made me giggle
-
@2Fdev2Ftcsh Just to clarify I mean you are responsible for developing the software and then testing it in an environment, excluding things like unit tests.
-
Grats. Can confirm cmake can be confusing.
-
@TopsyKretts interesting. I have both the keyboard and mouse currently paired with a windows computer, a Mac mini M1 and a MacBook Pro M1 and I don’t have any issues.
-
@sariel I can fuck with that.
-
Fucking gold
-
@EpicofGilgamesh lol
-
@jespersh Haven't had to create a new repo for ages. Tried to push to master and got an error, noticed my branch was called "main" and instantly got triggered.
-
Creels MASM tutorials are incredible.
