@cst1992
Spelling analyst as analist is Dutch... -
You are a good person. And I like Curry for a cat name :)
-
@Dropkick500 I spotted it today while refrigerator shopping. There were Samsung wine, Samsung marmelade and even Samsung cookies in there :/
-
@M-Arcus Are you by any chance Dutch? Searching latex string comparison doesn't give me anything nsfw, but latex string vergelijking definitely does...
-
@bittersweet We should kick all hipsters out of the country.
-
@bittersweet Of course. But that is just not going to happen any time soon in the slightly old-fashioned company I work for.
-
@zeknoss You are probably not going to (want to) agree with me on this, but aren't big parts of those choices and actions influenced by all these things you have no control over?
-
@zeknoss I can understand why you wouldn't want that. In the end we all want to be a unique personality. At the same time presenting yourself as, or only considering yourself to be, part of a certain 'group' can be tremendously helpful for both blending in and standing out in a group.

I applied for a job whose listing was all about company culture and ended with the phrase "Are you smart and do you dare to interview with us, then we want to meet you."
They turned me down. I sent them an email saying that "I am smart and dare to interview with you, so I expected an invitation."
I have been working there for two years now. -
@zeknoss We have these clubs here as well, but they are small. But I don't think that is really a female dev thing. In all parts of society there all-female-whatever-clubs. It seems to me that women just feel more of a need to unite then men.
-
I don't think I ever heard any woman refer to herself as a female programmer (unless relevant). However, at least half of the time when I tell somebody what my profession is, théy feel the need to point out my gender.
The underlying 'problem', if any, is obviously the same, but I can't relate to this rant at all. -
This is why I told every single one of my colleagues (finally) willing to switch from Eclipse to IntelliJ they only needed one shortcut to get started: ctrl+shift+A (find action)
-
Ooh, me too! We had a computer with literrally no games, so paint was the only entertainment I had. I used to 'mix colors' by zooming in, drawing blocks per pixel and then zoom out and draw by copy-pasting those blocks.
-
But in the gym example it's a good thing because I can go to a quite gym for cheap when lots of people do pay and don't show :)
-
@bittersweet Take the red pill
-
@bittersweet I'll be happy to take a look if you send me the footage. And I have recently been scanned to see if I had a brain tumor so I know for sure I have none.
-
Maybe point a webcam at your fingers so you can check back?
-
@dalastTomCruise It is indeed very smokey. If you're into that I can definitely recommend this one. But it's not a beer for the masses.
-
@bittersweet Haha, yes. And I very much enjoyed ordering it ;)
-
@linuxxx I turned 32 last sunday
-
@bahua @trappist @linuxxx
I found this gem tonight:

Please tell me you have other resources than that book for learning java. Java 2 is literally so last century...
-
@linuxxx Haha, if I find another, maybe slightly younger, version of me I'll make sure to get her number for you ;)
-
@linuxxx Don't like it. I love it <3
-
@linuxxx Good choice, I like that one as well :)
@bahua I think we have a great craft beer scene in The Netherlands. There's loads of small breweries and since the biggest supermarket brand started putting regional beers on the shelves a bunch of them have become semi-mainstream.
@trappist LaTrappe is indeed good and I believe the only 'trappistenbier' we have. For classical beers LaTrappe or Hertog Jan are the way to go. If you feel more adventurous I'd checkout Oedipus, who for example brew a triple beer with lemongrass and ginger, or Kaapse brouwers, who also have a great pub in Rotterdam. Also interesting is Jopen. A brewery housed in an old church in Haarlem. They do both the classical and the more experimental beers. -
So what's your current favourite?
-
@PonySlaystation I don't think you could pay enough for me to be willing to take either your children or your kidneys. The heart emoticons we can talk about.
Thank you for your sympathy when it comes to the headphone-situation. They were some sweet Panasonic's. Not sure of the model since I scratched off the branding with my bare fingers because of the hideous font. They were a gift from my ex-boyfriend and, as far as I know, not insured. My blood type is A-. My day could have gone better. -
@Nawap Do you know the game TIS-100? There it 's perfectly fine (and fun) to use GOTO.
-
Shoo! Don't go waste this marvelous day with us here...

++ for the tag :)
