It's great.
I also started bash.
Wrote a scripts to two-way-sync some folders on two Pi's and now I'm working on an install/configuration script for my global adblock.
Done nothing the past two weeks because of work, tho. -
Need space to free space
sounds reasonable to me because
hit start button to shutdown
XD -
@gedankennebel
What would you choose?
1) Leave the keyboard, grab the mouse, minimize terminal, and make two clicks
2)
Stay where you are and
sudo shutdown -h 0
I pretty much always choose 2 -
@CSaratakij
Will defenately have a look at it.
Thank you -
@shubhampotdar
Read my last comment again.
It's like the baby and the hot plate. Rest is life - or did you do everything exactly like your parents or someone else close to you advised you to?
I'm done here. -
@shubhampotdar
Your intention does not make it better.
As if that spieing makes you a good person or REALLY helps you to 'protect' him. Even if he had visited 'hard stuff' of any kind - that would have been in the past and you can not make him forget those pictures/stories.
You can tell people how to prevent some situations and stuff, but what they do in then end is always their own decission.
How many kids touch a hot plate after their parents advised to not do that?
End of story.
P.S.:
Sorry for my bad english. I'm german. -
Handle it like a dog:
If you can't hump or eat it, give a sh1t and move on. -
My coffee (best coffee 4ever):
375ml ToGo cup
- 5 tea spoons of espresso powder
- 5 tea spoons sweet chocolate powder (usually used for milk)
- around 350ml hot water
- around 25ml milk -
@umnikos
Nope. I use nano.
Even tho vim is pretty much almighty -> I can't memorize even the basic shortcuts.
Every now and then I try vim again, but always fall back to nano. -
Two or three digits which are close to eachother (so not like 10 or 19, more like 58 or 14) get typed using the horizontal numbers. Rest numpad

@ScribeOfGoD
Script is saved. But did turn off my dns...
@vringar
Yes, should really edit /etc/screenrc soon. -
@shubhampotdar
You did already use it in a bad manner because it was YOUR will in the first place and not his.
That makes you a really bad, not trustworthy person.
If I'd be your brother it would have been nice to meet you, stranger.
I have a 13 yrs old daughter and sure I am full of sorrows sometimes - is that a reason to spy her? Seriously NO! -
@linuxxx
Ok, you got me to it xD
cat $testfile
carz.com
foobar.de
amazon.need.com
foo.bar.g.au
flickflick.it
Now let sed find all dots (/\.) and replace them with "\." (/\\.).
sed -e 's/\./\\./g' $testfile.txt
(-e to have output on screen and nothing is changed in the file)
output:
carz\.com
foobar\.de
amazon\.need\.com
foo\.bar\.g\.au
flickflick\.it
In the script I'll use -i to let sed edit the file right away.
sed -i 's/\./\\./g' $testfile.txt -
@linuxxx
I can't use the whole line as $var since I have to find the "." and escape them to "\." and put that into a tmp-file or something maybe.
We'll see.
Haven't go on with that little project, but will come back here when I did.
Thanks for ya effort -
@shubhampotdar
You don't need freakin access to fb if you only wanna know what sites he's visiting.
I would understand if you'd sniff him, but braking into his (no matter which one) account for that (sorry) stoopid reason is ethically absolutely incorrect.
No matter if done like script kiddie or like a black hat.
Shame on you. -
Dark theme ftw
...need a keyboard with backlight =( -
@vegasvikk
++ for the first world problems.
You can code for food and get love, but (yet) you can't really code food nor love -
@Jop-
No.
Yes.
I know ubuntu and fedora for example already do automatic updates, but you can turn it off if you like (which is the point).
I do prefer manual updates/upgrades on my machines, tho. -
@orto
Yea
I presupposed it to be kept changeable for the users who know more than how to turn on/off the computer of course.
An already activated tick-box in the grandma-edition^^ -
@kevinkev
ok: clipboard manager ftw?
Even my stock android can handle 20 entries.
With idk clipper or something it can have unlimited entries -
if [ 'locate Emoticons' ] ;
then
echo "Welcome Emoticons =)" ;

-
@siljamicke
Haha!
Imagine:
"Check the fucking handjob!"
+1 for the laugh -
@moshmage
Your comment made me look at the files again, think it over and get a good starting point without googlin.
Sorry for crieing, but anyway:
Thanks -
Sounds like that happened in germany xD
-
@orto
It might be against the linux philosophy in some way, trur.
But don't you think that for standard users like the grandmother who only does some shopping or the parents who only use the box for mailing or a little office stuff:
I personally think atleast security related updates would be fine.
If you'd spread Linux to EVERYONE then you know you defenately have to build some automatef mechanism to kinda "protect" exactly those type of people.
They just want to shop or w/e and only know how to click the little 'x' on the top right corner of the notification.
You can't give linux to completely everyone, tell them 'you make ALL decisions' and wonder why you get sh1tlo4d of rants because two years later people complaining about their unsecure systems.
Sorry for my bad english. I'm german and just woke up xD -
Grab Linix instead ;P
Nimm Linux statt Windows ;P -
Linux
95% terminal
5% firefox -
Back in the days I made a self experiment:
Installed XP without updating it.
Used it normally with ie5 or 6 I think instead of firefox and without an anti-virus oder firewall etc for bout half a year.
Done a virus scan -> clean.
Brain.exe ftw? -
