Looks like he already has

Why would you want to meet people who ONLY have the same interests as you? The best part about meeting people is getting to share life experience, it would be so boring if all you talked about was the same things.
Kids nowadays. -
Maybe you should stop trying to be friends just for their technical skills?
-
Yeah, fuck that guy. Find out who his boss is and tell him how unprofessional and downright creepy he was. The recruitment industry is all about networking. Stain his reputation and others won't want to work with him.
Bonus points if you can find his boss on LinkedIn. -
@varundey I don't see it that way. Seeing how shitty it used to be gives perspective.
Besides, we're devs. We'll always be learning something new -
@altermind beat me to it. Lol
-
Nothing surprising. Academia is always years behind industry.
Especially one that evolves as fast as ours -
@FitzSuperUser oh hey Steve Balmer, I didn't know you were on devRant.
Also I love how you bring up points that are completely counter to your argument. -
Holy shit, that's worse than the usual scum that try to contact me. And I thought I was at the bottom of the barrel
-
@azuredivay no it doesn't. What I said about quality and what you said about affordability are not mutually exclusive.
-
@Lukas lol if you took it to mean Newton, the PDA Apple made in the 90s, yeah it wouldn't make sense at all
-
@azuredivay I don't disagree. If you can't afford it, don't buy it.
-
@Lukas and seriously - Newton? It may have had some impressive tech but there's a reason it never sold well
-
@Lukas would you not get a BMW over a Toyota because both cars get you from point A to B? Many Japanese cars have better tech than luxury European and American cars. Does that mean European cars are overpriced and only idiots with rich parents get them?
Besides that, the Apple hardware and software work much better together than any other ecosystem. If I had to put a dollar amount on how much time I save not tweaking my computer to get it to work exactly the way I want it, a mac is much cheaper -
@edisonn um.. even if you're not a citizen you still gotta pay taxes? @korengali I pay the same as anyone else but not being a citizen, I don't get the benefits. Essentially all of the money I've put into social security and Medicare - I may never get to use it.
-
Yes. But only because I know what other people are capable of
-
@mrstebo how the hell can a contract be 2 days? It takes me that long just to set up my environment
-
@practiseSafeHex it's this new methodology - supposed to be even better that Agile and Scrum.
It's called having 6 friends -
Ouch man
-
Starting with small projects will help.
If your goal is to make the next Halo by yourself, part time and with no funding... yeah probably not going to work -
Wow guys, calm the fuck down. Macs are 5% of the PC market. Just because you use Linux and think you're an 733t hacker doesn't mean everyone else is a victim of marketing.
-
Where do you live now?
-
@Heichichi it's standard practice unfortunately. Without creating your own custom nav bar all apps default it to the top on both iOS and android. Windows is on the bottom though
-
The one thing no one thinks you do is upload hi res images
-
"We find that its reputation as a poor language is, in isolation, pretty well deserved."
The article brings up some really good points about why the language is bad -
@afflict yup agreed. Unless you're enterprise, in which case create all the garbage you want. Your users won't have a choice
-
If you're going to put an Easter egg in there you might as well make it more interesting
-
Because as developers we care more about features than user experience

You're not directly accessing the db, are you?
