Why does Amazon SimpleWorkFlow have the word simple in it? Simple is the last word I would use.

I have a confession to make. When i started programming it was done in my room all alone for around 6 months. I started watching porn while programming. And eventually only watched porn while coding to a point where I got turned on by programming.

I'm not sure if this further stimulated my love for programming or dimmed it. But sex and coding are now linked in my brain.

I started programming when I was around 14, I wanted to make add-ons for world of warcraft. After awhile I stopped playing wow and just programmed.

I thought gaming and math was my passion, boy I was wrong.

A rule of of thumb that I use when it comes to security is "don't do it yourself, use a library"

Does anyone have any idea why my 3rd monitor doesn't display anything sometimes when I boot into Windows? If I unplug and replug then I lose all output to all monitors . Doesn't happen in Linux. I assume it is drivers but I've reinstalled and updated and nothing works. Any ideas? :)

What's everyone's favorite operating system? I've been using Ubuntu for years now and I actually have no idea why as I have no real reason to be using it other than people tell me it is good.

I'm in the process of building a reccomender engine for the lols. After doing it for awhile I've realized that once I get it going then it will be very hard to optimize because I can't think of test cases or deterministic correct answers. Has anyone built one here who has tips on testing one? Thanks :)

The relentless feeling that slowly has over taken my waking life. The feeling that if I am not coding, learning or becoming better at coding I am wasting my time. I can't even watch movies anymore without reading articles. This is the worst thing about being a Dev, how when you are a dev you are nothing else.

At least for me, not sure how common this feeling is.

I've been a programmer for years now. I've slowly been getting promotions and I'm a senior developer at a large company.

to anyone I look as if I am an extremely good programmer however I constantly feel out of place. I feel like I am way worse at coding than my co-workers and people underneath me but I keep getting complimented on it.

I feel like a fake.
