It is called Rubber Duck Debugging. It is a debugging method where you explain step by step out loud how your program works to the duck. Telling out loud how your program works often helps to find the error easier, Just like how you would notice grammar mistakes easier when reading an essay out loud.

@daintycode the very technique comes from the ancient times of the 60s. People back then were pretty shitty at using proper conventions and their code was usually garbage to read. Then somehow they figured that talking to a rubber duck looks better than talking to an imaginary friend. They didn't want to look dumb, so they started to deepen the way of rubber duck debugging.
