I've spent too much time online... I'm in a zoom meeting, I missed what someone said, reached to my keyboard to rewind then realised it was live... 🙈

Trying to pinch-zoom physical objects is good too.

@donkulator yes the other day I tried to scroll on a piece of paper

@cafecortado so if you get older and start trying to scroll paper. Is this the Elder Scrolls.

@jestdotty Imma time shift this meeting...

A former friend of mine once tried to save the game right before he took the drive-up to highway. In his real car. :)

@jestdotty There is thing called replay buffer in OBS, which supposedly rewinds some amount of seconds live during the stream. Zoom desperately needs this feature or they are just throwing money at nonsensical additions...

@vintprox it should replay slightly faster so you can catch up, too 👀

then people will start favouring video calls because of attention issues

    what a business idea!

@jestdotty Even better! OBS native or websocket plugin would suffice, too.

So... I'm starting to realise how much more i mod my daily env than, apparently, even devs consider doing. I totally have that built into my system (the frankenstein'd windows one, i dont really use any ui for linux ever except the multicoincharts.com x20 cryptos i use like a screen saver on our rhel9 that's physically in my living room).

It's essentially a giant catch-all UI buffer with a bunch of hot keys. It allows for targeting by aliased objects from common html (some js, react) title schemes (including regex algos i made) or pixel boundaries calculated by diagonal, corner to corner, selection, variable speed and/or overlay.

I used to have it on constantly for 15-30m caching, ofc at reduced resolution... im not insane, well not with hardware strain. Recently ive had to use it for a much more extensive period of time, with much lower resolution ofc, due to some ridiculous bs with asymptomatic migraines causing transient amnesia. I dont trust amnesia-me.

About the buffer, since it hasnt come up here...

Things like a replay buffer can be consequential deterrents too. It's not as bad as if snapchat, or whatever other crap that commoners think is unrecordable, launched such a feature. But there are some potentially unwanted functionalities. For instance, a vast amount of companies since covid have used zoom for remote training. Keeping tabs on attendance(useful for cutting people who arent serious sooner) and efficacy would be much harder if you allow much of a buffer. Plus distraction during replay etc.

Also, i tend to catch myself mentally noting things like async event loops and triggered conditions/functions when im coding in hyperfocus then i force myself to do something like cook. I've totally defined conditional breaks to cope with this adhd infused habit. I'm just waiting for enough integrated daily tech that i can script objects and tasks irl.

I have a wifi crockpot/pressure cooker, that i now wanna script.

@Jedidja I misclicked the notif from your ++ to your profile. I'm pretty sure you meant "loser's" but typoed.

    @awesomeest thanks never realized that.
    I've changed it.
These double vowels in english are always confusing

@Jedidja hey, that's one of the best responses ive gotten to my unrequested corrections in awhile. Well unless you count it vs amusement... then the trophy still goes to the guy in his 40s from a swipe app. I checked his profile which directly mentioned his recent attempts to fix it... mentioned something in a non-attacking way... get back:
*something along the lines of 'you didn't need to a bitch instead of just not responding'*... cuz no one ever rants about chicks not responding ever...
    Then...
"You look like one of those people that doesn't wash their ass every day"

I had sooo many follow-up questions! None answered... typical.
But seriously, think of how close youd need to get to someone before knowing, specifically, if they wash their ass once or more a day... what if he actually had some way to know this from a face pic or 2? As my pics didn't change, was he only into people that dont frequently wash their ass? Was this a compliment???

No one ever answers the real questions!
