FOR FUCK SAKE DO PEOPLE THINK BEFORE POSTING!!!

I got a 3 star review on my app and the user said if I implement feature x he will give me 5 stars, what is even more funny is he is requesting it for free!!

I hate this fucked up miserable world -.-

I’m gonna give you 3 stars unless you make me a sandwich feature..... 😅 people just want to hold you at ransom for ratings now.

@Jop- yes yes it is. I usually skip an app when it just has three stars. Four is a good average rating. Ratings in reviews dont go linear looking at the psychology side of things.

@Jop- it dropped the app total rating average and now users think it is an ok app and not a good one :\

@Condor hahaha thanks man much appreciated :D :D as for that user, yup it turned out he wants mkv support for streaming :O
It is the first time I hear about it, gonna see if is applicable then why not

@Condor I do immediate stream in my app I just support avi, wmv, and mp4 Did not try it on mkv tbh.
I don't pull the file at all it streaming directly to mediaplayer element with support of moving forward and backwards in-case user doesn't want to start from the beginning of the track/video

it is just his extension is not supported by my app and that is what he requested, he said mp3/4 are working without issues in his email

@Condor I might have explained it wrong, what I do is I return a stream from my service on the desired url, so when I want to stream the video/music track I simply tell Android Media Player control that i added to my app, that your source of media is in that URL, it handles the rest for me

@Condor technically maybe, because I think it depends on what Android supports haven't honestly checked yet if it does support mkv.

But for me to go the easy way I wrapped my "setEnabled" function to check if extension is wmv, mp4, avi else disable streaming button

@Condor what if by default android doesn't? if I"m not mistaken MX Player has set of Audio libraries to handle all required extensions

@Condor That's the point, but for me I only supported the ones I know about, will look into other formats though I don't know if it is worth the efforts, because its been almost two years and this is the first time someone requests an un-suppoted format

It's weird. People seem to have forgotten why they have the rating system in place. It's to rate the app, not rate it poorly because of a missing feature. You're supposed to rate the features that are already present. Gosh I wish I could bash their heads against rough, pointy cement walls.
