I thought all computers were genius, but seems they aren't

Wasn’t there a saying that goes like “Computers are dumb and humans intelligent”? I mean, with arguments of AI, ML and Deep Learning aside, computers can’t do anything without human input.

@Japorized everything done by a computer is done by an human. If there is an AI which can write AI's it will be built by a human. Whivh makes it smarter than the AI right?

@Lahsen2016 it might be better at some tasks but I wouldnt say smarter

@Lahsen2016 For the case of AlphaGO, I actually wouldn’t call it smarter, since it’s been through a training hell, probably one that’s worst than any genius or professional player given that the system’s entire life is made to do that. AlphaGO wouldn’t know what to do on its first ever gameplay against professional go players without ever having anyone to practice against.

@Lahsen2016 Exactly, so I wouldn’t actually say that the AI’s smarter, cause that’d be rude to the “effort that it has put into training”. But that’s subjective on second thought, cause it depends on how one would think of the word “smart”.
