Best Linux distro for a grandpa?

I've just installed Linux Mint KDE and while it feels a little stiff, I don't know any linux that's better.

Elementary or Ubuntu.

Probably Linux mint cinnamon or mate? Something nice and simple

KDE or Cinnamon as DE I'd say. As for distro I'd go with mint/debian/ubuntu :)

LXDE is very light, and is simple to use too.

Well, Lubuntu works pretty well for my sister, which has about the same technical competency as a grandpa

Zorin OS, my grandma was used to Windows too much so this was a really nice free alternative after Windows 10 started crashing due to memory leaks of M$ apps that you could not remove or disable

Id say either go with Zorin, linux mint (mate and cinnamon are both fine, the latter is a bit heavier) or maybe ubuntu mate. The mate desktop is simple to use and it resembles windows closely enough that its easy for most to adapt to it quickly.
With the last option you'll still be in the ubuntu world, so its easy to get support if you need. Lastly the software butique is a lot more intuitive to use than anything on mint (imho at least)

Oh and fyi, linux mint kde is being discontinued from this latest version (18.3) so there is that :)

Installed fedora with kde plasma to mine, he learnt fast and like it (no tech ppl)

My mom had no problems with KDE back then, and that means a lot.
I think as long as it's close enough to the Windows UI everything should be fine.

Oh, and if KDE Plasma is too stiff you need to activate wobbly windows ;)

Not true. There are several stories of non-techie people who figure Linux out within an hour.
