    Cannabis doesn't cause addiction, everybody knows it

    @rostopira it's addictive in the same way chocolate is addictive. There is no physical dependency but damn it's hard to stop.

    Recommend to watch the "Adam ruins everything" show. At least this small part:

    @rostopira as @wxcazee correctly said, it's not physically addictive. But it's psychologicly addictive.

    Just wait till you get a taste of DE and WM hopping. That's potent stuff.

    In unrelated news, I recently learned there's a wm that is literally just emacs. I'm thinking about trying it out.

    @rostopira tell it to my addicted friends....

    Some people are addicted to getting addicted, if it wasn't sugar then it'd be sex or whatever. Don't blame the cannabis because you are weak.

    @a7r3 stop distro hopping
  • 3
    I went through arch, manjaro, antergos and void in a week.

    i have stopped a year ago
    after buying a pc for gaming (FIFA addict here, Windows only )
    And working with Ubuntu Gnome at work

    I wont dual boot my home PC cause i am sick of getting in trouble at 2 AM once a week hehe
    So i have tried to play with some OSes on VM - no as good or smooth

    last but not least, the bash in windows 10 solcved my missing software i have need for my own programs, it was really a brilliant move from Microsoft imho

    now, after all of that, i'll leave @Microsoft and @linuxxx here to flame the war!

    <closing app>
    <muting pc>
    <going dark>
    <finds a magic ring>
    <becomes possesed with it>
    <call me Gollum>

    After descending from Ubuntu to Debian to Arch to Gentoo to RedoxOS... I settled on Mint.

    It's a distro for stupid people, but sometimes it's nice to toggle a button in a config window using a mouse, instead of checking a wiki page for the right config file options.

    Cannabis -> alcohol and I’d agree

    @rostopira Friend of mine got highly addicted to cannabis so don't agree with you there. (he's alright now)

    All heavy weed smokers I know have such poor memory. Just sayin...

    @s0nic12 keyword : "heavy"

    And break statements, or at least according to one of my professors.

    What’s the major allure of distro hopping?
    Is it trying out new GUIs or package managers or some other features?
  • 0
    I mean, I get comparing KDE vs Gnome and trying a few different package managers. But beyond that - what drives people to try 3 different forks of Arch?
  • 0
    @jiraTicket People want to have the whole environment configured exactly how they like, but they don't want to need to put in additional effort to make it so.
  • 2
    @rjedlin Yeah, it fascinates me that the Linux community is so driven around trying complete fresh installs rather than focusing on customizing existing distros.

    @d3vnu11 yes, keep the source code

    Cannabis is highly addictive, and causes havoc on the bodies mental and dietary stability

    This urban myth that it isn't is terrible for creating these issues.

    @CCAtAlvis Once you get into it, there's no going out 😂

    In the last 4 days I have hopped over 3 distros trying to find the right one.

    Currently back on Ubuntu 😩
