Emotional cheating, investing more time in someone else for a long period. And ofcourse, monogamy is expected. I don't have the urge to cheat and I expect from my partner too. I never had relationship with a cheater, regarding that I pick them well

people cheat cuz they're unhappy and can't communicate with their partners about it

generally comes from insecurity. maybe in past they were made to feel like their concerns or happiness is irrelevant, so they never developed the idea that others would care about them, their standard of living and whatever else, so then this consequently makes bad communication skills. and when people are older it's harder to know all they're missing and to be self aware of something that's gonna be so subconscious (probably from childhood, parents. monkey see, monkey do, so tense relationship between parents would do it. parents who stay together for "their kids" are gross cuz teach them retarded unhappiness shit -- to push thru irresponsibly instead of fix)

another way to put it, to make it fit from the other-side instead of the self-side:

cheating would be if you consented to something with me and then for some reason you went back on it

a lot of people have hidden requirements when they go into relationships so assume consent on various things. this is fine and most people can read this even without words. but the basic essence is you consented to this being a value of yours / important to you, and if you later remove that value out of nowhere then that would be cheating. you basically broke the agreement and understanding between the both of you and left the other person confused and to deal with your metaphysical mess
