@Alice thanks, you see, I don't use it, I prefer to go from scratch but I've lately been overwhelmed with businessmen thinking I'm doing something wrong as I'm not using it!

We use it.. But just for a non-profit organization, becousr we don't have money and I don't have the time and I can be sure, that when I leave the organization, everyone can still manage the website without problems, even our non-techies..

Wordpress is the best, it rocks my socks and keeps me awake at night giving me nightmares of how not to code a cms.

I think it’s the easy option out rather then the real option out and a lot of people made a lot of bad choices and it became the “industry” standard from a marketing point but NO I will not touch a single line of it anymore.

Wordpress is like the feeling of intense pain you could only get from dragging your balls along barb wire for a mile and then pouring lemon juice on them.

Company that I am working in made our own website with WP too, cause we had no time nor free devs to develop one from scratch.
Within month 1 trainee, half-time of not profesional graphic designer and 2-3 other devs that helped in minor cases created decent website that could be later managed by non tech employees.
IMO it is just the matter of situation if to us it or not.

@blem14 there are better CMSes out there which are better for the devs and prettier for the end users.

@Codex404 I agree, but most of the time clients heard only about WP, since they are ignorants, and select theme even before ask you to make a page. You know, "I've seen it there, can you make me the page like that?". Will you use, lets say, joomla if he showed you WP theme?

@wokeRoach small piece of advice: please read AlexDeLarge rants....

@wokeRoach I'm sorry but I can't agree on that one. Working at a hosting company, the amount of shit wordpress causes us to cleanup every day is fucking outrageous.

I'm with @AlexDeLarge on this one.

@wokeRoach If you don't update a wordpress site within a week of a security update, chances your site will get hacked are through the roof. That's 'not our problem' but when I'm the on call server engineer and yet another hacked site causes the server to have a very high load, guess who has to fix that shit at three fucking am!

@wokeRoach He doesn't abuse my skillset! It's just a part of my job :). I get paid generously for any overtime. I've got an awesome boss!

Well, the fact that wordpress still uses the md5 algo for passwords (it's been 'cracked' for idk more than 5 years?!)... I think it's how wordpress is build.

@wokeRoach Haven't looked into it much but as far as I know, drupal, wp and joomla are all equally bad as for security :/

I just recently found a Mexican design agency, they design. Websites, apps, etc.
They only offer wordpress and a single theme which they personalize...
