One of my friend at college asked me why her computer is running slow even when she is running only chrome.

Me: how much memory does it have?
Her: 1TB.
Me (somewhat confused): no no I meant RAM.
Her: yeah yeah it's one TB. I read the specifications of the laptop.
Me: *in my mind, fucking read it again* please read it again. You must have misread it.
Her( grinning face ): alright.

Guess who didn't talk to me for a week. 😂

This is like the first world problem for tech people. I had a female friend who wanted to interact woth me and she asked me to find a laptop for her and I did, and of course, since I know hoomans want the illusion of choice, I gave her 2 options to choose from, one was my personal option which had a ssd, 8gb ram and a decent non low-powered proc and another similar but worse but it was a convertible and it was pink.....guess which one she choose?

@securiter hahaha silly hoomans! But why would you give her a pink option? Everyone could have predicted the outcome.

@paranoidAndroid yes, my friend, that was my error, an error of the mind, no doubt, an error of an individual that has unwillingly tapped into gender stereotypes! However, I assumed my power of discourse was superior to the gender programming which that girl was subjected to...I failed :( Arguments such as powerful processor, quality build, the offer to install a good and friendly version of Linux...meant nothing in the face of the color pink. I have failed my ancestors, upon who's shoulders we are standing as IT professionals!

    I don't see what's wrong with that.
I mean for her she a computer is just a tool for emails and accessing the web, maybe some other shit too.
But like many people they're content with a working device and don't really care about getting the fastest and highest spec.
    Does it work?
    Does it look nice?
    Is it your favorite color?
what, you wanna give me a matte red ultrabook sure :D

Well something like that happened to my friend. Here is what it went like.

Friend: How much RAM does your new smartphone have?
    His Sister: Umm.. 21 MegaPixels

Moral of the incident: There are still a lots of silly hoomans around us.

I had a laugh with a job ad for java or .net consultancy, saying you can chose the colour of your car, but "we'll have to disappoint you if you want a pink one" 😁

I was disturbed by sth in the same ad though. Sth like "can work with minorities". Seems so obvious to me you might as well put "can read and write".

Discrimination doesn't make any sense. If you want to count out coloured people, gays, disabled people, chronically ill, women, older people, men with ponytail, tattooed people, nerds, right wing people, left wing people, divorced people, atheists, religious people, people listening to Celine Dion, etc there aren't many people left. In fact, what's left would be a minority.

Sadly that's how some phones and tablets are advertised right now at shops selling them
    Processor: Octacore 1.8Ghz
    Memory: 64GB
    RAM: 3GB

@LrdShaper I used to work at customer service. People always asked if we also had that phone with 64Gb memory. Somehow people think it's extremely important. I think it's because most of the time RAM is left out in advertisement.
