I might not be able to move to Germany with my husband because I was born with one hand and the Army is apparently concerned it'll make me spontaneously drop dead, even though I've survived for (almost) 27 years like this.

This is why I like computers, they make more sense and don't say stupid things like that.

fuck, what can I do to support your fight?

@needToRoll nothing. They asked what my plan was if my arm broke, so I told them not use it (decided against telling them I want to make it cooler).

Should that not work, turns out I know more influential people than I thought. But I'm not pulling strings to end careers this early in my husband's career. I'll fight this through proper channels.

What has the army todo with where you live?

Everyone is losing their mind over army's interference, this is not their business but even if it is I don't see the logic behind their reason.

This is illogical in so many ways

    WTF??? Oo

Wtf, such bullshit. Like, are they concerned you wont be able to survive or something? I assume your husband is in the military and they are concerned about having to send him back to take care of you?

Also, what happens if you had two arms, and fall and break both? Or your neck? Or spine? So much bullshit.

That must feel like armagedon 😉

    @needToRoll you can give a hand m8

@RAZERZ sadly that’s not really an option because, I am a wheelchair driver and relay strongly on my arms and hands...
Also I think a mans arm on a woman would look way more strange than a technical replacement... or what do you think @queenMorgana

@needToRoll @RAZERZ yeah, between the two of us, I'm the one with the detachable arm lol

@Wack husband is army. We're supposed to be headed there soon, but now I have to battle for the ability to go.

The company that builds my arm is over there. I could go work for them and help them fix their shit (not sure if my issues are with its programming or the hardware, but both could use work)

@Alice I'll make it out there. I submitted my appeal. If they still say no, it's discrimination and I can stop playing my Army rules and fight a much more straightforward fight

@AlexDeLarge they think I need therapy for the body issues everyone has but are obviously worse for me...

Still dunno what that would matter while moving to a developed country where I would STILL have access to health care if I needed it
  • 2
@AlexDeLarge likely prejudiced. But also, how are they going to tell me they don't have support? What about the comcast wounded amputees? Are they just SOL?

My question would rather be why would you go to germany ?
    (From a german)

@needToRoll we should know in a week or so, I hope. When I'm not vpned into work and can use a real keyboard, I can explain the absurdity better, if you'd like
