A coworker that is producing incredibly bad code and refuses to learn new stuff was declared "senior developer" by my boss. And me with over 20y experience? I am just a junior.. and have to clean up his mess all the time. I guess it is time to find new job.

Yeah. Very unfair. Try to hang in if you decide to look elsewhere. Much easier to get a job while you have a job. But maybe it will get better where you are. Keep us informed.

I second what @jumpshot22 said. Make sur you find a company that values you!

Same situation here. Good luck in your search! Find a place where you're not only valued but can actually learn from your peers. :)

You could stop cleaning up the bad code and let him fail. That could show your value without having to leave.

Better yet, what about being the app developer that has to teach the system analyst (with a claimed 20+ years experience) how to login to the server so he can transfer some files through winscp?!
