Does anyone else use the old “I’m not available today / tomorrow too” with clients when they come knocking?

Y’know, to let them know you’re not at their beck and call?

Am I evil?

    That's just one of my ten canned response phrases...

    It's not bad, it's called setting expectations and boundaries. But this shouldn't violate your SLA with a client. If they paid for immediate support, I reply instantly because at that level I'm charging an arm, leg and your first born.

    @Vip3rDev naturally. It’s an ad-hoc purchase order agreement, so no SLA.

    Even if an edit takes me 10 seconds to do and I could totally do it right this second, I tell everyone that it'll be done in a week or more so they don't start expecting instant turnaround time.
