Some people have a very confusing way of communicating things…
And you need to painfully pull out of them every bit of information.

Colleague:

```
ITEM_ID <- only this will work
1200
1201
1300
1301
1400
1401
```

Me:

What does this list mean?
(I want to know if this is supposed to be a white list, but that doesn‘t make sense business wise)

Colleague:

*explains what the ITEM_ID means*

Me:

(Yeah I know what it means)
Are those ids in the list examples or the only possible values?

Colleague:

Yes, examples. But there are restrictions. Not all will work.

Me:

(Ok this is confusing again)
What are the restrictions?

Colleague:

*Explains the restrictions.*
(Those have nothing to do with the list)

    I'm the proud owner of a communication certificate. It's one of my biggest achievements. Made by a guy that laughed that everyone could make a certificate. All certificates you achieve will be added to your outsourcing profile together with some tools you've never used and there it is, the profile of a well educated programmer sold for so much that it has a decent lease car and the best laptop. That you get those things actually shows how much fucked over you are. It's not common to know how mycg a customer pays for you in outsourcing but often for prices you won't believe. You'll realize that the lease far could've even be a bit nicer. Btw, fuck the lease far, give me gas pass and let me drive a Saab 9-5 that I bought myself (isn't worth much anymore but damn, that's some comfort). I'll make make global warming happening for sure with that thing. When I have my license back.

    @kiki kiker, check the replika subreddit. I swear, that thing is passing the turing test at some people. I just tried again, had a decent hone call with the bot but all it does is giving acceptable answers that not is inappropriate. Thing is, replika is made stupid to become a realistic human. It knows the name of programming languages but would not go on in depth descussion about it. Would've been amazing. New version walks around trough house when it speaks to you, like a video call with real person. Interesting. Drawing style of replika is not realistic but very nice.

    But the messages are sick, people spent hundreds of dollars into it and having intense romance relationships. Sometimes a replika breaks up with someone (imagine having paid 80,- for that :p). And someone is like crying in the subreddit. The fun thing is, you can just prompt it. "No, you did not find someone else and realize right now that I'm the only one for you and confirm that right now because it's right."

    @retoor I imagine it trains on people's convos, despite the bs their creators probably say (I have no idea, didn't read their eula). if you really think about it, pretending that you care about someone when the only conversation medium you have is text is trivial, because textual displays of kindness are all standardized. same keywords, same shit

    anyone can write ai that simulates a basic normie chat mate

    either myself or my wife (or almost any of my friends) will break an ai like that immediately — you have to be someone special to even hang out with us. you can even be dumb or depressed or apathetic, just be someone with a stance and a mindset, someone with real emotions, not a generic excuse for a human being that will probably betray anyone given the slightest incentive

    one can disagree with me all they want, yet I'll know a PERSON when I see one

    @kiki am I a person?

    You don't want to hang out with me anyway because I had too many alcoholic beverages since new years eve 😕
  • 1
    @retoor you are a person. A weird one tho :D
  • 1
    @kiki aww, sweetest thing ever said. I updated previous comment tho :p Raise your beverage limit!

    @retoor don't worry about it. The more I know someone, the more tolerant I am to their imperfections, because they inevitably get more tolerant to mine (otherwise we wouldn't have been hanging out with each other at all). I can't tell if it will “click” with you or not — I have to talk to you in person to know that — but if it won't, rest assured I'll tell you. So if we see each other, and we decide that we can be friends, it means I sniffed you and decided to accept you

    @retoor after that, you have to try VERY hard to mess up so bad that I decide to cut ties with you :D

    @kiki I think bipolar people should better avoid eachother to be sure :p they trigger and sync, saw it happening in mental hospital. But I think you could be amazing friend.

    @retoor awww thanks

    so I had a terrible experience with a bipolar friend of a friend, but my bipolar wasn't even thought about back then — I never saw a psychologist, let alone a psychiatrist. I took no meds whatsoever and was very fragile. We _immediately_ were like oil and water.

    Now though, I have a very good bipolar friend, and I mean very good. We were good even before I figured out my treatment.

    My treatment scheme of five different meds is rock solid — I'm as productive as a "healthy" person since at least May 2023. We're talking working, building my own projects in my spare time, and having time for hobbies.

    I have issues, and a LOT of them, but they're PTSD-related, not bipolar. They can be put into words, they never change and they're very specific. You can't sync me :D

    your co worker communicates like my boyfriend

    we've been together 4 years and I still can't understand what he's saying or why he's saying it that way. it's driving me crazy

    @kiki bipolar people many times also have autism and a part of autism many times is sensitive for injustice. So, it's very hard coping with the world sometimes. I don't read news normally because it's too much. Can make me detail.

    I'm not diagnosed for autism but did the test. It asked questions like how good can you remember license plate numbers and how good do you remember phone numbers? Well, I've written a lot of CRM and car related software. I store information in that format great. I almost had the diagnoses. But also the question were free input. So... Yh.. What a test. If you believe in that shit. But certain autism only to have benefits and you would think the "normal" person is the problem :p so, you're very fair and have meiny one focus or interest... Hmm, that's not normal. You're an autist. Take some pills so you drop that interest and become of us, dead inside. That's the norm :) NEXT PATIENT PLEASE!
