I don't wanna be ridiculed for this, but I have really been meaning to ask. What is people's obsession with the dark theme? It seems like such a noob thing to do.

Step 0) close the blinds, the curtain, whatever
Step 1) turn off lights
Step 2) stare at a white picture for 3 hours straight

I think a Dark theme is an easy way to make an application easy on the eyes, although I think a GOOD light theme can also be really easy on the eyes.

Dark theme is easy on the eyes especially when you stare at your screen for long periods of time

I worked in a company where it was mandatory to use the Windows Classic theme, because the modern one was "unprofessional." Kind of looks like your "it's noobish" argument.

I mean use whatever is good for you, don't generalize things as noobish or unprofessional.

@CodeNoir No, its just every beginner is like, "I am gonna use dark theme on my IDE". And if you ask them why? their reply is usually "Because real programmers use dark theme". and this is why I said that.

@Alice I have dark themes setup and for the life of me i cant even hack my own code (while I am looking at it)
