cursee165957yHope you get well soon. Hugs.
// I will be very upset in your shoes. There is one thing I will miss miserably. Not my keyboard. :( -
cursee165957y@ViRaS LMAO ... I know I am not supposed to laugh but your comment is fucking funny.

I had carpal tunnel, I went on a ketogenic diet for two months and it went away with some rest.
If you have a choice to try it before a surgical option I recommend it as I couldn't hold a pen for more than 10 seconds -
SSDD47607y@seraphimsystems thanks man that’s a good bit of insight. How long did you rest and what did “rest” look like? No coding?
-
@SSDD rest was nothing for a day or two and taking frequent breaks along with icing the wrists or just running cold water.
A bit of ibuprofen (Advil?) Or some nsaid of choice.

Article about keto and inflammatory pain.
Oh I also used to soak in hot water (my hands) for 10 minutes before I started work, seemed to help. -
Get better soon!
(and seriously, REST! don't stop resting after one day, wait a good week.) -
brahn15747y@SSDD That sucks, been there myself, though not that bad. Had surgery on my right hand, and the left recovered enough to be mostly non-symptomatic during my sick-leave afterwards due to the surgery and burnout.
The surgery is really fast and easy. Only get it done on one hand at a time, though, as you shouldn't use the hand for a while after surgery.
You will lose a small amount of strength in the hand as a consequence of the surgery (~15%), but unless you are a rock climber you will be able to regain full strength again.
I still prefer to carry heavy stuff like bags in my left non-operated hand, though.
Until then ice-packs and anti-inflamatories are your friends! And get a wrist-shim for when you sleep or need to put a lot of strain on the hand. -
fml892277yI really dread the day, that this starts to haunt me. I love typing and powerlifting and intro to stretch my wrist and arms as much as I can and keep try to keep breaks as a regular thing.
I’ve worked a lot on my overall posture but hand/arm placement is still hard haha.
Get well soon! -
PaaPsik10297yAhh, get better man.
I would advise you get a mechanical keyboars with very light switches, it might help a little bit.

Experiencing it right now.
As I type this I am sat in hospital having lost power to my hands over the weekend.
I work a day job, I have my own startup that I’m working on and I’m also freelancing on another startup.
Just been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. It sucks. My hands feel about as a strong as a particularly weak 4 year old girl.
