Client: Saw you did some cool logos...can you design us a logo as well?

Me: sure, do you have any ideas already?

Client: no

Me: Whats the name of the company/project?

Client: We don't know yet.

Me: FUCK YOU!!!

That's an aggressive overreaction to be honest.

    Step 1. Draw a circle
    Step 2. Submit

@Stuxnet that wasn't my reaction tbh...but that is still my feeling

    @Stuxnet it isn't.

    @azous Kinda is.

Part of this field requires a certain degree of people skills.

(Obviously op didn't say this to them lol)

But just be like "Well when you have some more info, come back to me and we can work out something.

Also, this is something so trivial to get stressed out about. There's your current situation (how's it going btw?), people are living pay check to pay check, ect. Pick and choose what to get worked up over. This is something trivial asf; brush it off and move on.

Friend: Can you create me an avatar?
Me: Depends. What do you want? (If it's a three minute job and I have nothing else to do, I'm brainlessly doing that, basically an idle task)
    Friend: uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

@Stuxnet saying "fuck you" to someone doesn't necessarily means to stress out, obviously I wouldn't do it but I consider it an appropriate response to people that make others waste their time.

We are full off people like that.

Plot twist: the client genuinely likes you as a person and wanted to look at logos you thought were cool to get to know you a little better 😔

@sladuled They made a genuine inquiry and this is something so trivial to be salty over.
  • 1
@Stuxnet Trivial but still dumb request..
Do you imagine going to some place & inquiring if they have custom salad dressings.
They answer yes of course, we have ...listof salad dressings...& you can customise it with ...list of available ingridients (probably misspelled).. So what kind of dressing do you want?
And you reply not sure yet that I want a salad dressing..or a salad..
  • 3
@sladuled People do it all the time. You make an inquiry to gather information you need to make a decision.

Your analogy is also a very different situation. Same theory, yes. But you can't compare a fucking salad to a logo.

What's with the tech community and being so fucking bitter at everyone? Jesus Christ. I'm socially awkward in person but even I can handle social situations better than most people on here it seems.

@Stuxnet I'm not bitter, but I don't like indecicive people.. or people who are in a hurry to get something even though they don't know what they want.. or people.. 😂😂😂😇
  • 1
@Stuxnet Also I can, I am the client here & the client is always right!! 😉
  • 3
@sladuled I never said you specifically are bitter.

It's a common trend I've noticed; people get really bitter over trivial situations. (Yes I'm aware this is a place intended for people to be pissed off. But some of the situations people get pissed off at are just so trivial. I don't have time to stress over someone "wasting" like 3 minutes of my life.)

Think about it like this: When you need a new phone or laptop, what do you do? You research devices.

That's probably what he was doing. Establishing with the OP that his services as a logo designer may be needed soon.

@Stuxnet well from personal experience, I tend to visit devRant more often when I've been pissed off a couple of times already so maybe other are also posting about what was just the drop over the edge for them?? Dunno just a thought...

Yesterday for ecample I could probably smack our client if this convo was in person.. so many idiotic things to handle even before that, I'd probably snap in seconds if it was in person..
C: feature xy is not working!! Fix it!
Me: it does exactly what it is supposed to, prevents you from doing idiotic things in the system..
C: But it should not prevent this, we often do crazy stuff! And in case b it worked fine. Fix it!
Me: case b passed the validation for a reason, the case you reported a bug does not and for a reason. You have two options here...blah blah..
Or you can just change the settings for feature xy. But if I remember correctly you were bitching to us that it shoudl be set up like it is now and that we must never ever change it..

The second tipping point was when we asked that our test ad user was added to the same group other users that use our app are and the customer asked us what group should that be.. o.O um dunno?! Open up your user settings and check in what groups it is in?!

Also two minirants from me..was to fucked upyesterday to post, but serves as an example of how it might seem small things make us crazy, when in fact it's probably just the tip of the iceberg..
