    @ceee and be friendzoned.

    Getting a girlfriend is easy. Keeping is hard. πŸ˜‰

    @Divisionbyzero I don't believe that, showing her you're worth her time is hard, but proving you can be faithful is incredibly easy if you really want to be with her. It is for me anyway.

    @pransmarclou not really πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

    @Fast-Nop well,if one is really looking for a girlfriend,one must not be after of being friendzone.
    It's good in a way : one can learn a lot, increase their understanding about females in general, maybe then one won't get friendzoned ?
    Maybe?

    I think geeks can find girlfriends easily, it's nerds who have much problems in these

    @ceee mh, in my experience, not so much. For men, things can start from friendship and become more. For women, it's either-or.

    Plus that male attractiveness consists of dominance, social status and looks, in that order. Geeks who have trouble finding a GF are often lacking in all three of them, and that doesn't change with geek girls.

    The upside for geek girls is that these geeks are often also shy (lack of dominance), which means that geek girls can enjoy the tech stuff at conferences without constantly being enerved by approaches from men whom they'd reject anyway.

    @Fast-Nop
    *Typo in my second comment*
    *One must not be afraid of being friendzoned*
    three words to generalize male attractiveness?
    I assure you women don't restrict their judgement based on just these three criteria,and that order.
    I suggested that because:
    Geeks may not be good at those three things or whatever,they are good at "geeky stuff". It would be easier for them to initiate or participate in conversations with people who understand them. This is good for a start for breaking the ice, gaining some confidence. Start of with friendship then think of taking things ahead. (I have observed, relationships that start with friendship work well)

    Lacking the qualities you mentioned doesn't mean one wont find a girlfriend, not everyone is looking for such traits,one needs to look out for the right women.

    Optimism++

    The way you guys see women is that they are different to you... That's your problem... The difference between a man and a women is like fortran and javascript... One is just easier to understand...but we are all just the same machine code deep down... Just different hardware and nuclear launch codes

    @davehuk that nuclear launch codes caught me off guard.

    @Divisionbyzero just choose wisely. If she is constantly craving attention because she doesn't know what to do with her time, that will lead to issues. If, however, she has her own projects, then she won't complain when he's coding.

    Doesn't have to be technical stuff for her; arts, music or so work, too. Of course, that requires bridging the gap, but that's pretty much the point of a stable relationship.

    @ceee well of course, it's a simplification to go with three items, but it works as general rule when you look which men are easy with women and which aren't. There are always exceptions, but it's in the nature of exceptions that they are harder to find.

    Though I'd suggest ++optimism so as to be more optimistic before trying, not afterwards. ;-)

    @gitreflog my nuclear launch codes never work...

    You'll find your someone man! I met my girlfriend on Tinder of all places and it turned we both are CS majors, both go to the same college, and both want to start software companies of our own. Had no idea going into it. I fell in love when we were just hanging out and she wrote a bra size calculator in C++ on my computer... 😍 It was OOP too 😍😍
