Holy shit! Apple deprecates OpenGL.
How dumb can they be? They really want to be this arrogant kid in the corner that only plays with itself, won't they?

It's a shit company that doesn't know how to improve their shit devices.

    Better battery? Nah.
    Better CPU? Nah.
Make them cheaper? Lmao we're talking about Apple here.

Instead, let's give them a new fucking animoji that can be made to look like them!

    Joke ass company.

I read somewhere that it would still be possible to use opengl but that people will need to install it separately, it won't come with Mac.

I guess if people are using steam or something similar they could get opengl with the download.

But it really is like they just want to push people to use their Metal shading language, especially since they seem to be doing a lot of augmented reality stuff with iPads.

    No surprise, that's apple style

@norman70688 There's no escaping the insane good marketing from Apple. People want what seems like the best and don't have to think about it more than 'it works'. But their products.. The only thing they have right is their Retina displays

And don't get me started on their support.

Seriously, Apply is Marketing and their success is based off of people who want it easy and don't want to think very deeply about what they're actually buying.

@Kandelborg but also for retina, is just a commercial name for high res/ quality/ colors display, you can find better monitor and laptop displays... Of course you have to pay more than basic ones

@dontbeevil Actually.. I haven't read much on them. But aren't there some patented shit that makes sure others can't make displays the same way?

I always notice that I'm looking at Apple screens.. And that's even though I'm with a Galaxy S9+ with a 4k TV..

So, I might be unwillingly biased because of my lack of knowledge, but are Retina not a bit better because of patents?

@Kandelborg I'm not an expert and graphic designer but as far as I know/see:
    - for laptops I find better a dell xps 4k display
    - for my desk I have a dell ultrathin monitor 2k, for graphic design there are some proper high spec display from dell, asus, acer or even less known brands like eizo ecc...
    - surface pro, book, and specially the Studio have a really good display (the studio has the best one specific for graphic design quality)
(of course if you're using it make sure to use windows 10 and a proper sw with a proper dpi scaling for the best experience)
also I'm a fan of OLED display, so I find nothing better than my LG oled 4k HDR TV (but for videos not for graphic design) and a lumia 950/huawei p20 display (now I have a p10 with lcd and I really miss oled)

    p.s.
if you want to know more details, search for some proper display technical comparison, not a generic one that says: wow this one looks better
