@jschmold just today I’ve seen 3 instances of either sexual harassment or plain old misogyny, and haven’t seen one person say anything about it. Lots of support, but no one saying “that’s not cool”. Why bother complaining about what I’m saying when there is a fuckin entire pool of actually harmful content right here under your nose?

@baeovvulf hey I agree with you completely on your points about social issues but I don't think this comment is a manifestation of that. Calling him mysoginist is the most uncharitable interpretation of what he said but also kind of a trap that's really hard to argue against without seemingly worsening your stance.

It's really just a bad joke and I think we should leave it at that.

two things here.

1. I'm not anti-feminist or misogynist or anything, please don't take me wrong here. if I find a joke on a man, I'd share that too. if I find a joke on cat, or a dog, or a table, or a chair, or a tree, or even on myself, I'd share that too. I'm either a little broad minded or too ignorant, you can call me anything.

2. you like it you ++ it. you don't like it you -- it. i totally understand that. having more ++ is good. but I don't mind it much cuz honestly, to me, what matters more is the content actually reaching a lot of people.

It's just my opinion that no matter how bad a topic sounds, anyone should be able to joke about absolutely anything.

Posting a sexist joke is annoying and irritating and I don't find this joke funny in the least. It's boring and generalizing.

But that doesn't mean OP should be unable to post it. It's a slippery slope. There shouldn't be a condition where people can only post what the majority approves
