>today, we - junior .Net programmers - have a teambuilding event
>after it we will go to the bar (with our boss)
>the bar is pet friendly
>I need to walk my dog
>he is young, probably west siberian laika mix plus a resque dog, therefore every evening I spend 3 hours working with him
>my boss implies I should not bring him to the pet friendly bar.
>my boss wants me to walk my dog only for an half an hour max and return to the bar without it.
>I guess I won't be even going to the bar, couse my dog is more important to me

    @beggarboy I think he just dislikes dogs ir wants to get all young female employees drunk and flirty... Cannot decide which is it 😂

    > young flirty tipsy developers

    Can't say I can blame him

    @Brosyl haha, well I have a cat and a dog... close enough

    Drinking kills brain cells. Why would your boss want stupid devs.

    @skprog good question 🤔
    But there are several young, easily drunk female devs, maybe thats why...

    I hate team building activities. All you get out of it is who are the closet alcoholics and harassers. I am cool not having that knowledge.

    @georgelynch I wouldn't hate them if it wouldn't be so 'serious adult teambuilding with drinks and flirting'. We could go for a hike or kayaking with our families, pets, kids or whatever. I am quite the troll, so sexual harassment doesn't scare me, but it can be tiresome, boring and annoying

    @Brosyl not quite straight forward harrassment, but more like very annoying flirting. Usually devs who are good at flirting are already married or have gf. But... there are plenty who are failures at romancing. Failures plus very high nerdiness, daddy jokes and all around over the top awkwardness. And they rarely understand 'no, stop, you are trying wayy to hard, please go away'. Though I haven't flirted with girls, there probably quite the same situation on women part. And when you get all junior devs drinking... well... It becomes more close to sexual harassment than a simply failed flirt. Dealing with it is a pain in the ass, hopefully more figuratively than literally.

    @Brosyl Exactly :) But not everyone knows that, therefore I prefare more relaxing ways of teambuilding: hiking, kayaking, camping, etc... With family members and friends. This kind of teambuilding makes everyone talk about hobbies and other stuff than dev dev dev and thare a less chaces of very uncomfortable interactions happening. For more programming based teambuild we already have a two months long mini fun after work dev project.
