TeamLeader2 is currently attempting to kill a PR I worked on for the past three weeks because -in a listener function- I place a listener and that's supposedly bad practice

I have no idea how to tell him; an event causes the creation of an object -itself an event emitter-, and I want to listen to those events; I can't listen to those events without a listener on those events. There's no middle ground.

I ask that they show me what is the best solution then. Most of the time there is a big awkward silence... That tells enough for me and acts as a 'shut the f* up and let me do the work'

@jestdotty this sounds like a drone that read an article once about preferred practices and didn't walk away with principles of the problem. Instead they took away absolutes which was likely a click bait title. So either they didn't read it and only saw the title. Or the content was way over their head. So incompetence at best.
