- Let's use jquery to fix this
- No
- But it will work just fine
- I'd rather re-write the code and not use jquery in an angular project
- ...
- NO!

But but... I’ve already done it in JQuery

I literally took a whole day rewriting someone else's code to take out jQuery. Did everything for them!

"No, it's too hard to read. It'll confuse people."

"What about these bits where you coulda used jQuery but you didn't?"

    "NOT THOSE BITS!!"

    @bioDan Thank you!!

I've seen a lot of articles about "migrating from jQuery to Vue.js". I don't mind Vue but I wouldn't choose to work with it, but I haaaaate jQuery today. I don't buy the similarity either, it takes a different mindset. The *one* good thing, is I've managed to sway the most stubborn of jQuery believers with that kind of stuff.

Jquery is like bad duct tape for js, may fix things but fuck it up in the other side.

Why do you insist on using jQuery and Bootstrap?

    “Because its all I know”

    ... instant rage.

@nate Vue.js is great but why are there articles involving it and jQuery? That’s like an article about why you should learn to fly instead of riding a bike with training wheels.

@arjaycodes "But also, it's just easier! It's just dollar sign... it does what I want it to!"

Well, yeah, you're probably going to find what you already know is easier for you than learning another approach.

@arjaycodes Yeah I reaaally don't get this, I don't see the parallel. It does seem to be sucking in some people who have clung to jQuery... and it might work if searching for "how to do x in vue" is as widespread as "how to do x in [js|jquery]" always returns jQuery.
