So Windows 10 Mobile seems like it wants to become true Windows and updates at night without any warning, illuminating my entire room

    wow..... thats about as bright as a screen can be!!! Short of a protostar, I'm not sure there's anything else that bright in the universe.....

    I might be exaggerating there a little, but still, that is seriously bright......

    How creepy is that!

    win10 mobile even still alive :| ?

    @pitzyrulz Going to throw a spanner amongst the pigeons here.... I thought windows 10 mobile was actually really good, and the UWP is a brilliant approach to multiplatform development.

    I'm not being sarcastic here, I genuinely do think it's excellent.

    The problem is that I need to qualify that a people think I'm taking the piss. For so long, Microsoft have got mobile development about as wrong as it can be, so now when they do get it right, so few people actually believe it.

    Yet they did get it right.... too late though.

    Well done Balmer, your lack of solid planning regarding Windows for mobile devices destroyed all public regard for the platform.

    Ah well, back to iOS for me.. still can't decide whether I hate it or not....

    @oudalally I only tried it a few times on a friend's phone, but it was pretty okay, yeah. The main downside was the lack of apps due to it coming way too late on the market.

    @oudalally yeah the panel can get seriously bright but it eats away the battery so quickly it’s not even funny

    @paranoidAndroid Don’t be paranoid...wait a second πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜…

    @pitzyrulz Dead and not so kicking

    @oudalally I really liked the concept but the platform has been abandoned...so now I’m stuck with it, not wanting to spend crazy money on a new phone. It works quite well though if you don’t need many apps. Except for some random updates

    Waaaait a minute. If that's your phone. What did you take the picture with?

    @DuckDuckWent no I really mean creepy just because of the light alone. My phone once went off and the entire room was brightly lit. I woke up and was completely confused for a moment. Didn't understand what's going at all.

    @makwayne My.....TABLET 😱

    @paranoidAndroid I turn all my other devices off at night, or make sure they can’t emit any light visible to me, so I knew it must have been the phone

    Same thing happened to my 730 last night.

    My 950xl updated last night... Seems faster too

    I wonder if this means that Windows phones are back. If that's the case, then I'm the happiest mofo alive!
  • 2
    My 950xl got updated as well πŸ™‚

    Meanwhile I'm just surprised that Windows phones are actually still a thing :O
  • 1
    @vishal-vp A Windows Phone (Lumia 950) running on Windows 10 Mobile
  • 2
    @Condor hehe, yeah. Just don’t feel like buying another phone right now. Everything feels overpriced and loaded with stupid features no one needs
  • 1
    This phone still got updates???
  • 2
    @granola the phones were probably working decent so far and they took the opportunity to introduce new bugs/security holes to bring it more in the line with current windows10 "to have the same experience across the devices" πŸ˜‹

    @granola Apparently...

    @pitzyrulz That fits in with the random update scheme hahaha
