If you don't like your ads: Use uBlock Origin.
If you don't like them taking your data: Disconnect your router. -
@Cyanide I do use uBlock. But take youtube content creators. They need these ads to survive. So I keep them in the white list. I have nothing against ads. What I am against is the opt-out policy of sending my data from my personal computer.
I wish I could plug out and smash my router 😛 -
set https://1.1.1.1 as your dns setting on your router and your isp will not know what websites you are visiting.

I use Windows 10 too. Agreed that most problems still exist but atleast I don't get irritated with ads related to my queries. I have completely disabled Cortana and all ad options while installing windows. I also only use incognito at all times (my chrome shortcut is set to launch in incognito). I log in to Google accounts only when necessary. All Google activities, including search history, YouTube history and stuff are all paused. It helps a lot really.

I hate the current state of internet based service providers. They are collecting so much data, it's scary and borderline stalking.
A simple search on Netflix changes ads shown by Google. I watch a lot of Japanese/Korean drama and now my ads are in Japanese. What the actual fuck.
I run windows 10 on my main rig because of steam and windows only games. One day I was searching for filezilla in windows search. Since it is now handled by the same UI as cortana, it searched it on the web too. So now I have ads related to ftp hosting in Japanese.
Sometimes I feel like just formatting my system and install debian on it. But those games man. May be I can live without them.
Can we bring back the internet from 2008. It was so much better back then.
