What messed up exactly? A normal Windows update should not touch your data in any way.

What's the other OS you're running? A while ago I had an "adventure" with dual boot Windows and Linux and what I ended up needing to do was to set the Windows partition as "active" within a live CD partitioning tool (can't remember which one, could've been GParted).

@acnair you may have to reinstall Windows for gaming though. Linux gaming is miserable in general.

Thinking of reseting or reinstalling something get to my nerves. What surprised me is the forum. Their solution is to reset their OS! 😐 @RememberMe

So relatable.. after my WanBLowS got royally fucked by my attempt to disable telemetry (it was like one service and one registry key but eh) and frêle Windown of course couldn't deal with that.. Insider updates got completely fucked. I have periodic backups and I can detach my data from the machine because it's stored on both an external drive as well as a linked server.. but configuration changes, WSL, installed programs, all that shit.. taken me days already to restore it to a workable state again. Thanks Microshit!

"Never" is a strong word. As a Linux user, I can say that I still use Windows almost every day. What's made it usable for me is running it in such a way that it's never more than a window on my desktop. A VNC session into a VM, or a parsec window for gaming.

You'll be much more tolerant of Windows if you reduce it to that.

I know 'never' is a strong word. Thats why I used 'MayBe' in the end. πŸ˜…πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Ύ@bahua
