    We work too much anyway.
Productivity went up gazillions times up in the last 100 years. But we still have working hours as in 1918.

If we would reduce working hours to 5h per day with the same amount of pay as of today. You woule get an increase in productivity, because of more motivated and rested workers. And more demand for goods. As the workers have more time spending money. More happiness and prosperity through reducing working time!

But how is this measuring productivity? Do you know? Shouldn’t the high income be higher than middle income if the gap between the rich and poor is increasing?

@Bevvvvv sorry I cut the picture to much, here is the description. Also they explain in report that it might be due to wrong measurement methods, cause of digitalization of work.
    BTW nice report to read.

    Define work

For me when I have to work with complete mess like sudden deadlines, always changing demands of clients, low salary, much pressure from life then I wouldn't give a fuck about my productivity when all I care about is earning the damn salary to survive.

But if you are talking about work where at least all shit is organized, salary balances with requirements of life as in rent, food, transportation, hangout at least during weekend in regular places and not talking about 5 start places, and I come home not having to worry about shit like rent (again) electricity, food, bills, and on top of that not burned out from work, then I think productivity is something I'd look for

@gitpush I don’t think they precise in such. It’s more likely some GDP, employment, working hours, population indicators that sum up to some productivity chart. You can read more on their website here https://conference-board.org/data/...

@aether well chart is about ‘growth of productivity’ not productivity itself. Also if you look and US chart it looks ok and that indicates that after 1985 when communism started to fall down in europe global productivity started to grow more dynamically.
