I think that is the original, or the API shrinks it?
What social network programmers use btw? -
c3ypt1c96546y@GyroGearloose unless yours has jpg artifacts, i don't think it's original. And i think it might, but I'm not sure. 🤔

I get paid 15$/hr at my research job. I looked at your post expecting a free wallpaper BUT THERE WAS NONE
I DEMAND A REFUND OF 0.025 CENTS FOR THE 6 SECONDS OF MY TIME YOU WASTED -
@GyroGearloose oh, right, and damn I didn't know Leiria was this nice.
I'm at Vagos right now but I'm from Braga. -
@GyroGearloose no way! How couldn't I recognise it? I spent my childhood there. My favourite beach. São Martinho do Porto is very nice too.

Condor323326y@GyroGearloose Both me and @linuxxx are using F-droid. I'm currently using it in conjunction with Google Play though.. because Google Play has a ton of applications that I purchased with them, but stuff like AdAway and NewPipe are only available on F-droid. So yeah :)
As for Google.. I don't like them, but I doubt that I can fully detach myself from them. I mean Google Assistant is pretty useful and Google Play is pretty much the driving force of Android.. Apps that I've purchased earlier in Google Play I could just get in touch with the developers about, to get something that doesn't verify its purchase legitimacy with Google Play, but subscriptions are a really tough one for me, as I pay for them with my SIM credit. And the device with the SIM card is apparently responsible for finishing the transaction, i.e. unless I put that SIM card in my tablet, that'd be my phone. PayPal which has been suggested in that rant earlier on the other hand is something that I personally won't consider, because they actively evade GDPR and froze both of my accounts (so they can't be removed), of which one had the only reason "because they felt like it". PayCunts they are.. borderline criminal. -
@Condor just found out that I can install Apache2 from termux, and it works....
What else can we do with this wonder? -
@Condor yep same here... Have a few good apps. But with today's phone we can have both. I'm relearning so much, stuff I forgot, stuff I didn't know it's possible...
I've been dependent on ultimate servers for my servers, but if I can use the Linux file sistem, and without rooting, it's owsome. -
Condor323326y@GyroGearloose A lot of stuff but unless you're rooted, you can't run services on the privileged ports (1-1000). Also keep in mind that Termux' repository is somewhat limited (though you could compile stuff from source I guess, it has clang) and that Termux would need to be running all the time. You could use phones as microservers, but you know my reservations about that already. Phones aren't built to be used as servers.
-
Condor323326yAnd of course /data/data/com.termux being a prefix doesn't help either.. many utilities are built against POSIX and have certain directories hardcoded, such as /usr, /bin, /var and whatnot. I recall that the developer recently put out a fix for that (so that e.g. scripts running as /bin/sh could automatically be relinked to $PREFIX/bin/sh instead) but it's still a pretty big problem. I doubt that Termux could ever really replace a full-blown Linux system.
-
@Condor still a good alternative.
Not secure, I know, but for tests and private apps is good.
Want to implement https soon to increase security -
Condor323326y@GyroGearloose In terms of security, Termux should actually be pretty decent. It's its own user that's confined by the Android system, so its processes can't access other resources unless it's running as superuser (using something like tsu). Principle of least privilege is implemented pretty well in Android, so I wouldn't worry about that. It's more the nonstandardness, phones not being very tailored at server use (e.g. wireless over wired, servers greatly benefit from stable and fast wired connections), and lack of processing power. Personally I'd choose a Raspberry Pi over a phone for this purpose, because its system can be made far more standardized (though you'd still be dealing with ARM architecture which is fairly complete in distro support, but still not as good as x86 distros and their repos), and consumes a similar amount of power. Or if you want to go fancy, Odroid XU4 or Orange Pi iirc should be good alternatives with some more RAM and better NIC.
-
Condor323326yAlso if you're running in LAN, https doesn't really matter all that much. That'd only be an issue when there's a device of which there's suspicion that it's infected and intercepting traffic from the rest of the network.. usually in home networks that's not the case.
-
@Condor thanks, I actually like the termux way a lot better then that app.
I'm thinking on https because o have the server open to the internet and probably will use it for testing my ideas before uploading.
The only reason the server is always up is because my ex-colegues still use the tables and some students, as my project was taken to the school I learned cnc programming.
Maby if the phone is rooted I can still use port 80? At least the app uses it, cause my Droid is rooted with stock room. -
Condor323326y@GyroGearloose For internet servers I'd always suggest a VPS instead. Don't serve content to the public internet from your home, much less so from your phone, and running as root that's asking for trouble. Depending on your exposure on production servers you may or may not know already, but the internet is full of evil crawlers and automated attacker bots, on the lookout for vulnerable servers. Android devices are notorious for getting out of date in terms of OS and security patches a few months after release, with only a few exceptions like Nexus and Pixel devices. And when it's served as root.. Termux isn't built for servers, and its httpd isn't either. It'll be outdated, and it could very well be vulnerable. When it's running as root, exploitation means taking over the entire phone. Then an attacker could use that phone to penetrate into the rest of your network. Hence why running services from home - and especially from devices where updates aren't frequently applied - is a bad idea. Use a VPS for these purposes.

Yaaa your right.
Might take advantage of the sky silk discounts, and I don't need much.
Didn't bought one yet because I can't focus enought yet, but I must launch my inventions site soon.
Gonna take this user name lol love how it's said in English, really describes me. In Portuguese he's just called professor sparaw -
c3ypt1c96546y@GyroGearloose either upload it somewhere please or just email it to me: c3ypt1c@gmail.com :)

c3ypt1c96546y@GyroGearloose I'm from Poland :) though, i live in the UK. Thank you for the pictures.

@c3ypt1c nice.... Love polish girls... So nice and soooo prrety.... Would you say polish girls are more to sluts* or more to close minded?
-
I felt in love for a polish girl when I was 14, on vacation. Was funny but she ended up turning to a slut, changing boyfriends every month and I'm wondering if she was the exception... Btw we were pen palls until she started dating a abusive boyfriend
