I've heard this before but can't believe it. Probably just need to buy one to feel the difference...

I would like to confirm what @futoricky said earlier both on the original post and his preference of clear switches. They are like keyboardgazm! There is a reason why every custom keyboard manufacturer runs out of them just as soon as they are made available!

@nmunro can you be a bit more specific!? Are you talking about mechanical keyboards in general or clear switches in specific?

I don't know what clear switches are so I guess I meant mechanical keyboards. That clicking clack sound is incredibly irritating. I like silent soft quiet keys.

Whats the difference? Been wanting to get one and I dont know how much money should I invest

@nmunro Well my friend you have been working with the wrong type of mechanical keyboard then. Get yourself a keyboard with clear MX Cherry switches with blue o-ring noise dampeners and you will enjoy the sound of silence when you type.

Brown & Clear Switches: tactile feedback, quiet - best for swift and soft typists

Blue & Green Switches: Clicky/audible/piss yourself and colleagues and friends and family off to the point of them wanting strangle you feedback type. - Best for people who are better at hearing the feedback of the key press through their ears rather than feeling them with their finger tips.

Black & Red Switches: No feedback, tactile or audible. - Best for the cavemen and cavewomen amongst us who have a certain animosity towards their keyboards and take their stress out on the poor board rather than the source of their misery.
