Ok Amazon calm the fuck down bud.14
It is 2:15am and I am alone in the office. I seriously hear a mechanical keyboard, but nobody else is here. I guess I die tonight.27
Person at work, staring at my keyboard: How much was it?
Me: The keyboard? Oh it's a cheap one for around $30.
Person: Huh... I'll never get you rich boys and your fads.
Well, I don't fucking judge you for your $600 phone, or your $80 shoes or shirts, you cuntwaffle. Fuckin' asshole has the face of a horse's left testicle, is always on his phone, which is arguably fine since he's not a dev but still fuck him, and has the gall to call me bringing my mechanical keyboard to work a 'rich fad'. Oh, that's rich coming from you. Ever seen your ugly mug in your undeserved branded clothing, you unloved, shit-gobbling piece of shit?
"You type so loud." And you breathe too loud but I don't tell you to stop but maybe I ought to.
Go suck on your daddy-uncle's chode for a couple more bucks and stop hanging around me, you judgemental cum-snorting piece of shit.
P.s. it's a cheap keyboard with blue switches but the office is normally noisy and busy enough that no one gives a shit about it. Planning on buying an Anne Pro sometime next month.28
Just set up a Vim profile on my keyboard. Is it going to help me any? Probably not. But it does look cool!13
Just like basketball player need good shoes, programmer deserve a better keyboard.
Definitely not show off. Just wanna say I'm a big fun of Cherry MX mechanical keyboard.19
My new office keyboard. Modecom Volcano Ultra Slim with Kailth browns. It has red LEDs but it's too bright at the office to use them.
Very quiet keyboard and very portable.24
With all the people showing off their setup and input devices i thought it's time to show you my keyboard...
- mechanical keys
- sturdy af; best for ranting (survived more angry fist strokes than any device should ever receive)
- older than me and outlived 5 (!) mice
- awesome retro look
- would beat a nokia in hunger games
- best code buddy ever (and propably oldest, too)
Hope i'll be able to continue coding on it another 20 years... Someday i may gift it to my grandchildren.18
A few days ago arrived my new amazing fnatic Mechanical keyboard. Makes writing crazy fast! I recommend11
Atm I'm trying to do some programming at night, with a mechanical keyboard... it's sounds like a machine gun. 😵13
My first Windows rant.
I use Spotify heavily. (After all, I am paying for it every fucking month.) In fact, it's safe to say I use it upwards of 12+ hours a day.
My birthday was a few weeks ago. I got a new mechanical keyboard using some money i received as a gift. This keyboard has a function key to launch your media player. Odd function in my opinion. But I figured I would try it out for a week or so.
My problem is: the default media center is that god forsaken piece of shit groove music (not only is it shit, I also have 0 mp3 files on my computer).
No problem, I'll just change the default media center. Fucking Windows doesn't let me change it to Spotify. Odd. Well, I did download it from Spotify's website. Let's try downloading it from the Windows store.
I download Spotify from the Windows store. It still cannot be set to the default media center.
For fuck sake, if Google can let me set Spotify as my default over their shitty YouTube Music that I know damn well they're trying to make as the default for all Android, then you can let me change it Windows.
Yes, I know Spotfiy isn't exactly a media center, but it's basically the same fucking thing.19
Epic team fail. I bought a mechanical keyboard, plugged it in typed one word and the team wanted to kill me.
I don't know much about keyboards, but turns out it had blue, very loud, very clicks switches.
Keyboard was unplugged, wrapped up and put back in the box ready to be returned.21
So here goes my home setup. The leftmost screen is the first computer screen I ever had about 13 years ago. The right one came next and I upgraded it this year with a monitor arm to make it vertical. The center one is 27" 1080p (1440p was too expensive).
The wooden thing on the left is a ghetto stand for my laptop. Another salvaged thing is the fan on the middle, it's just pushed to a cut usb cable, not even soldered, but it works.
Peripherals are pretty standard: Cheap mechanical keyboard, Logitech g502 and a drawing tablet. My headphones are the shp9500 (best thing I ever bought).
Little by little it came to this and Im pretty happy about it.
PS: Say hi yo my dog.12
Received my new mechanical keyboard from Amazon today. It feels so much better than our standard company Dell keyboard. And it looks so great. Also it has nice LEDs with several modes. Love it14
Introducing my everyday weapon against bugs.
Colour pattern to change depending on my mood or my rage against PEBKAC.6
Brought my blue switch mechanical keyboard to work.
My colleague came in wondering what that tapping sound was. Heard it through the wall 🤔😂13
Just my simple setup. A decent 24 inch monitor and a decent mechanical keyboard and a bunch-o-shit all over33
Me: *click click click click*
Girlfriend: Do you have to be so loud when you're typing?!
Me: probably not *CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK*
//Gonna see how far this goes... Buying a mechanical keyboard on my break :D9
Old story, and yeah, it's all true, I shit you not!
So here I am at about age 11 (more or less). At the time, I had an almost brand new 333MHz beast, with 8 MB RAM, 2 (!!!) MB video card and (I think) about 300 MB of storage (yeah, I'm old :)) ).
Connected to this monster was sitting a 14" CRT monitor, mechanical keyboard and a 2 button, ball "powered" mouse.
There was no optical tracking tech at the time.
One evening, I notice my mouse starts lagging. Test it to see if Win95 is stuck. Nope, just mouse problems...
Fiddle with it a little, and at some point it stops working at all.
My room was dark now, so I got up to turn on the lights, sat down in front of the PC, and moved the mouse by instinct.
Surprise! It's working again!
My brother comes in and turnes off the lights. Mouse non responsive.
I tell him to turn them on again, mouse works again.
At this point, we were both scratching our heads at this mystery...
I decided to confirm it again using a desc light.
Conclusion: my 2 button, ball tracking, non light sensitive mouse was working only if light was shining directly oh it AND on my 14" crt monitor at the same time!!!
To this day I have no ideea why.
I kept them both for posterity, and they are still there in my parent's attic.
I purchased the worst keyboard ever for coding
Please help , suggest me some good keyboards( mechanical) for typing/coding
Also as a coder will you pefer the cherry mx red for coding?
Share your experiences43
The worst part about using the computers at my school is that my $200 mechanical rgb programmable keyboard with macro keys is at home.6
Today, a team mate has sent me this picture: he found this Olivetti in the street, near a trash bin. He will take it to the office next Monday so we are going to troll other team mates with this new and fantastic mechanical keyboard!!2
Manager: we require people to work in the office but we'll give you a space to get as comfy as you want.
Me: *walk into the open space office, set my mechanical keyboard, plug in my noise cancelling headphones, start coding and mumbling every now and then*
Manager: keyboard is distracting others and we don't allow headphones as we want to be able to speak to you when we feel like it.5
When something works after lots of debugging, I save REALLY hard.
My wife: what was that banging noise?
Me: :w on a mechanical keyboard.
My wife: What?
I've found that suddenly and infrequently, for the past week or so, letters are missing from typed code, and I have to go back and fix them.
Now that is not super weird I guess, but as someone who tends to type quite accurately, and uses a high end mechanical keyboard...
I'm just wondering if the keyboard is broken, or if it's a brain tumor.
I've tried to test it, but every time a letter is missing I'm not actually completely sure I hit that key...
And considering the price of the keyboard, I'm also not completely sure which cause I prefer.11
Just got myself a shiny new MacBook 12".
It’s perfect. The pure perfection.
I got zero lags in every app I use. I type faster than on my mechanical keyboard. Everything is super smooth.
I’m never coming back to Elementary OS. I’m sorry tho, Elementary is great, but macOS is better.22
I don't want much, just a little Raspberry Pi powered portable computer.
With a 1080p IPS display.
And a folding, mechanical Bluetooth keyboard.
And a Logitech wireless trackball.
And WiFi with good range.
And a 128GB micro SD.11
So after coding the first iteration of a big project on some whack office supplied logitech keyboard I rewarded myself with a new proper keyboard that suits my character. I am as happy as a kid on Christmas :)
Vortex Race 3 Brown Cherry MX15
For any keyboard lover like me: this little guys are the most valuable things in my setup. Ortholinear keyboards from http://olkb.com I can't recommend them enough. They are fully programmable and comes in kits for you to finish mounting. The red one is a planck and the other is a preonic.
I'm using dsa keycaps from pimpmykeyboard and the switches are gateron blues.
They just opened a new massdrop for the planck, these are already assembled and ready for use. Check it out at https://massdrop.com/buy/...
P.S.: I have nothing to do with the project and I'm not getting paid to post this. Just love them and want to spread the word. Hope someone love them as much as I do.21
Well here's my new setup.
My desk wasn't big enough width wise, so instead of buying another one, I just cut some wood to be longer. Gotta improvise 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Just got the monitor today. Next item is a mechanical keyboard.
I'll post one with the lights off so the RGB LEDs are a bit more visible.13
Posted last week but the weekly rant demands it!

Cursee Station : The Keyboard
Prologue : I found /r/battlestations first and then the famous devdesk campaign came. I have been surviving with two potatoes laptops for years. One potato is big and one is small. Nevertheless both are 🥔. All in all, I made up my mind to own a proper dev desk. (even if not perfect)
And I'm starting with having a good Keyboard.
- space saving
- less than $90
Drevo Tyrfing V2 Ten-keyless RGB Mechanical Keyboard
I have asked my gf who is temporarily at Japan to buy it from amazon.co.jp for me.
May I hear reviews and feedbacks from anyone who have used it?15
Old setup vs new setup! Is the new one better? Got a mechanical keyboard and a mousepad from Sharkoon, a new retro lamp and a ryuk pop figure :) I also just bought a Zenwatch 3 by ASUS. I wonder if I can make any personalized apps for it. It will arrive tomorrow lets see.Do you have/use/like smart watches?16
1.5 hours of cleaning my mechanical keyboard after 2 years of usage. Kill me!!! But damn daskeaboard looks sexy when clean5
I tend to load up Spotify put on my noise cancelling headphones and zone out and become one with the code.
Like deeper than neo.
Also have to have my hands on my mechanical keyboard at home.
Working away from home on my laptop and I miss the CLICKITY FUCKING CLACKITY!!!! of my mechanical keyboard.
Blue switches if it wasn't obvious.7
A colleague bought a mechanical keyboard to the office today.
Pro: if you miss a deadline you can blame that colleague.
Budget setup! Third monitor on the left is waiting for a cable. The bigger monitor is a 27'' that i got for 15€, the vertical one I got for free. Mini itx ryzen setup behind the monitors. Chinese mechanical keyboard with outemu blue switches5
I bought a keyboard 3 months ago for 4usd.
Feels and works better than my old mechanical keyboard of 60usd.2
hey ranteros! i like to dream and i know many of us dream of a nice machine to do anything on it, if you want to post the specs of your ideal build(s) (even a laptop, pre-built pc, space gray macbook pro... doesn't matter). and your current one.
cpu: intel i7-8700K (coffee lake),
gpu: nvidia geforce gtx 1080ti,
ram: 32gb ddr4,
ssd: samsung 960 evo 500gb,
hdd: 2tb wd black
motherboard: any good motherboard that supports coffee lake and has a good selection of i/o,
psu: anything juicy enough, silver rated,
cooling: i don't care about liquid cooling that much, or maybe i'm just afraid of it,
case: i accept any form factor, as long as it's not too oBNoxi0Us,
monitor: 1080p, maybe 1440p, i can't 4k because of the media i consume (i have tons of shit i watch in 720p) + other reasons,
keyboardmousecombo: i like logitech stuff, nothing fancy, their non mechanical keyboards are nice, for mice the mx master 2 is nice i think, i also don't care about rgb because i think it's too distracting and i'm always in darkness so some white backlight is great
os: windows 10, tails (i have some questions about tails i'll be asking in a different post,
i think this is enough for ideal, now reality:
brand: acer (aspire 7736z),
cpu: pentium dual-core 2.10ghz,
gpu: geforce g210m 2gb (with cuda™!),
ram: 4gb ddr3,
storage: hdd 500gb wd blue 5400rpm (this motherfucker stood the test of time because it's still working since i bought this thing (the laptop as it is) used in late 2009 although it's full of bad sectors and might anytime, don't worry i have everything backed up, i have a total of 5 hdds varying from 320gb to 1tb with different stuff on them),
screen: 17 inch hd-ready!!! (i think it's a tn panel), i've never done a test on color accuracy, but to my eyes it's bright, colorful, and has some dust particles between the lcd and backlight hah,
other cool things: dvd player/burner, full-sized keyboard with numeric keypad, vga, hdmi, 4 usb ports, ethernet, wi-fi haha, and it's hot, i mean so hot, hotter than elsa jean and piper perri combined,
os: windows 10, tails
if you read this whole thing i love you, and if you have some time to spare on a sunday you can share your dream rig and the sometimes cruel current one if you dare. you don't have to share them both. i know many will go b.o.b and say "what you're hoping to accomplish, i already did bitch.", that's cool as well, brag about your cool rig!8
Last monday I started using a mechanical keyboard at my workplace and now the ones who are in my same room probably want to kill me...! 😉2
As much as I love using a mechanical keyboard ,I fucking hate the taps it makes when others use it
It’s like this constant hammer,
FUCK YOU BITCHES , don’t fucking hit it likes there’s no tomorrow !!!5
Excited to use my new mechanical keyboard. Awwww YISSS! Been waiting forever.
But seriously who thought of combining Fedex and the United States Postal Service in a delivery method. Sure it sounds great in theory but from my experience, Fedex has the worst tracking ever and USPS is slow in delivering to business addresses.11
Friend got me in to mechanical keyboards... Now I want to buy every keycap. My wallet is not happy with this life choice.3
To developers with small sized hand, what keyboard do you use and most comfortable with?
Anyone uses mechanical keyboard?10
Who thinks that noisy mechanical keyboard is a smart idea in an open office?
I think I'll go mad by the end of the month...14
My old mechanical keyboard broke, so I had to buy a new one. I'm Brazilian, so the local market for mech keyboards is either limited or very fancy (fancy as gaming keyboards).
So I got this amazing Logitech G610, which unfortunately is not sold with blue switches here, only brown ones. Very solidly built, well made, good extra keys and whatnot.
BUT OH MY, who ever thinks those LED effects are good for normal usage after 5 minutes of playing with them??? VERY distracting! <o>14
Today I Fucked Up. I tried to do something involving hardware.
I tried to fix my mechanical keyboard by myself with no thought towards how electronics work. My first time using a soldering iron and trying to fix something myself.
I went from needing to replace one key to burning some plastic, failing to get new solder onto the parts to attach the new key to the PCB and getting solder where I didn't want it to needing a new keyboard because I think I've fried some stuff so badly half the bottom row of keys no longer works.
Guess it's time to buy a new keyboard.
Made my research about mechanical keyboard and was worried that my first one was going to be too loud at work.
I can hear the majority of hammering cave trolls smashing their membrane keyboards louder than I can hear my MX Brown.
This shit is like heaven for fingers.
The rest of the team in my bullpin have started to wear headphones more, I wonder if it has something to do with my new mechanical keyboard...5
I decided to build a mechanical keyboard myself. Almost done with the PCB design, I just need to connect one more row to the micro controller, but I can't fucking figure out how I'm supposed to do that D:
Seems like I need to rearrange almost all other connections, fuck!11
I've been looking into the world of mechanical keyboards, and damm I'm overwhelmed by the possibillities of configurations and products. Why is chosing a keyboard for the MacBook 12" which has only 1 usb-c so hard? Any advice on keyboards and keyswitches?5
Public Service Request to Users from Tokyo and those with good knowledge in buying keyboards.
Which retail shop sell tenkeyless mechanical keyboard such as HyperX Alloy FPS Pro? With English words not Japanese 😬
I can't find it at my country and my gf is currently at Tokyo for a training, so.
On further note, I'm looking for a keyboard with following requirements. Would appreciate your recommendation.
- without numpad
- standard qwerty layout (US/UK)
- backlit (any color, as long as keys are visible in dark)
- USB wired
- easy to clean and maintain
- must last for more than 3 years13
Having a hard time deciding whether to get a mechanical keyboard for work or not... Satisfying typing and annoyed coworkers, or shitty apple keyboard cancer...4
You don't need a mechanical keyboard to code for long hours but shit sure does become smooth af with a cherry MX red.2
Passover cleaning, for a keyboard geek.
On the right, I duct-taped a funnel and mesh screen on a vacuum cleaner motor, since I ran out of compressed air.
The keyboard is a Model-M reboot from Unicomp, bought on Massdrop (https://www.massdrop.com/r/JDLA54).1
I just got back home after a nice vacation to the East Coast, last night. Turns out, what I missed the most about home was my mechanical keyboard.1
Finally got my "new" keyboard! Had to use one of these at work for few months and I loved it. It has that classic tactile, clicky feel. I almost got an expensive mechanical one, but I'm glad I didn't.6
Thought getting a mechanical keyboard would be a good choice. Now i enjoy more using my laptop for coding than my main computer, because of the headache i get. Gotta get new keyboard.4
I'm planing to buy a Cherry MX keyboard but i found that there are many types(red, blue, etc...) so i need your advise guys in this one.
Which one do you recommend me to buy?15
Which keyboard for programming?
Chiclet or mechanical ?
Sorry, I don't want to start a debate but, always preferred laptop keyboard, and now getting a workstation(gonna do programming on that)15
So glad i moved from a desktop PC to a laptop for development. I still have 2 workstations (one at home and one at work) with 3 screens, mechanical keyboard + mouse. But if i ever have to demo to a client/PM i just un-dock and take my laptop to them. Plus if the office is loud i just go to another room.1
I wish I would have picked faster shipping for my first mechanical keyboard I ordered this weekend... The wait is killing me and I have to wait a whole week until it comes in lol. Hurry up Fedex! I need to annoy a coworker.
That feeling, when you want mechanical keyboard, but you poor student and you don't have a money enough for buying at least single detail of it. So instead of click-clack you must to tap-tap on damn flat laptop "keyboard" :(1
I am quiet these days although I had few materials to write about. Like my journey of devdesk. I bought a proper chair. New mouse and got a mechanical keyboard. Work is fine but it is definitely not lack of rant-worthy moments. I had deactivated my Facebook and I wasn't that active on any other social network from the start. So all the more reason for me to be active here.
But turn out I'm not. I was thinking about it and this is my outcomes.
1) I'm focusing more on my tasks after adoption and practicing pomodoros technique. Hence using devrant lesser.
2) My right hand was literally unusable and unmovable for two times in past 5 weeks. Hence using phone lesser.
3) There was that notifications bug period and I thought people were just quiet like me. Hence more reasons to be less active.
4) devRant algo is good but not smart. It knows that I have a relation with PHP. But it doesn't know that I don't hate PHP. >>> How many times a week can you listen/ignore to people saying "Hey your wife is a silicone doll?" Fuck you. I know. But I'm married to my silicone doll. So fuck off. <<< PHP is just an example. I literally close devrant whenever I see "(noun) is (something negative)" posts.
My hand will fully recover soon. (I do hope so). My tasks will not always be super overwhelming. The app's bugs are getting fixed.
However I have a doubt about the last point.1
Why the FUCK did I decide to get this EXPENSIVE ASS MECHANICAL KEYBOARD before examining it to see if its software had non-windows support? THE SHIT IS WINDOWS ONLY AND IT WON'T RUN IN WINE!!! Okay, sure, there's an SDK, a C++ SDK. So I decide to download it and then... the "ReadMe.txt" looks like this:
(§G) SDK •ÿø˝§∫≤[
1. CoolerMaster LED Table.xls : LED Øx∞}™Ì(6 row x 22 Column)
2. SDK Function.doc :¥£®—™∫®Á¶°ª°©˙
3. x86•ÿø˝: ∞ ∫A≥sµ≤®Á¶°Æw°B Lib¿…§Œº–¿Y¿…
3. x64•ÿø˝: 64 bit ∞ ∫A≥sµ≤®Á¶°Æw°B Lib¿…§Œº–¿Y¿…
I FEEL FUCKING CHEATED! WHAT THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW?!?!?!?!? THIS SHIT HAS NO VISIBLE DOCUMENTATION!!!15
My setup, seeing that people are posting theirs.

just ordered a das keyboard 4 ultimate mechanical keyboard. anyone already using it that can validate my spending?8
Im thinking about buying my first mechanical keyboard so i have few questions:
Vote: (++a comment, or even better, type ur opinion)
So vote nr1: kailh switches: approved/disapprove
Vote nr2: palm rest: no difference/i cannot live without it
So ++ a comment with ur opinion on it(on both votes)(if u arent lazy-type it :))4
This weekend, I bought a mechanical keyboard to use at work. I'm worried the clicking sound will bother my co-workers around me. Does anybody know if bringing the keyboard to work will make people hate me?
It's a Logitech G610 with Cherry MX Red switches. I ordered some rubber o-rings on Amazon to dampen the keys. They should be coming in tomorrow. Should I risk bringing the keyboard into work before I dampen the keys?7
I love artisan keycaps and love checking r/mechmarket to see what pops up, but I don’t understand who’s out here droppin $100+ on a single keycap. I can appreciate the art and craftsmanship, of course, but come on. It’s so hard to rationalize spending so much on such a tiny object. Can anyone help me understand if they feel I’m wrong here?2
Explaining how a mechanical keyboard makes you type faster is like explaining how light-up shoes make you run faster.
So mechanical keyboard suggestions under $120? Also I might need to import it so consider import duty of around $50 while suggesting2
Can't wait for my next paycheck so that I can buy myself a new mech. You will soon be mine, Mistel Barocco!
Who here uses mechanical keyboards at work?
I have an old razor at home with Cherry MX Blue switches, very noisy so definitly not suited when around co-workers.
Any recomendations on silent boards suitable for office life? I've looked at the Logitech g413 with romer-g switches but I am unsure if these are pleasant to work with.
I am also considering POK3R, Ducky One or WASD with Cherry MX Brown switches specifically for office. Would like to hear experiences from fellow devs who prefer mechanical keyboards and use them around co-workers.2
Today I replaced my Logitech G610 that had a twitchy enter key by a Corsair K70 with MX Silent switches.
It's a whole lot of money, but man that thing is really beautiful. I'm in love with the aluminium top plate and the entire design with raised switches/keycaps.
The G610 is a good keyboard (only missing a palm rest), but the K70 is much more comfortable, and the silent switches are really a lot less clicky, nearly as quiet as a rubber dome keyboard. Really nice for office environment.
The only sad thing is, I would prefer brown switches for regular typing, because of the feedback. But MX Silents are only available as red and black.
So now I have red switches, but that's something I can live with.
I hope the K70 is made to last, I'm not planning to have another keyboard for the rest of my life.2
What keyboard do you use ? Any advice ? I would like something for office. Mechanical but not too loud.7
I'm thinking about making the switch to a mechanical keyboard, but I don't know much about them. Anyone have good recommendations on a starter brand that's good quality but won't break the bank?4
I'm starting to feel pain in my little finger from using Control and Shift so much. I should change my keyboard at work, but it feels a little overkill to bring a 1.3kg RGB back-lit mechanical keyboard to work...2
Which one? Mechanical? Regular?
Any recommendations? Only thing I need is it to be silent and not glow like a lamp. Mostly for coding work stuff, 0 gaming.12
Which Keyboard are you using?
I want to get a mechanical Keyboard, because I think I'd be faster typing with it. Especially because I use a lot of Keyboard-Shortcuts, my current one often 'hangs' and keys get stuck.
Especially I'm interested in the color of MX switches, if it matters..10
shamelessAffiliateLink == true
I just wanted to share this with anyone that is interested in trying a mechanical keyboard but not trying to break the bank or wants one that isn't 10 meters wide. It's my first mechanical keyboard and I absolutely love it. I got the black one.
Should I buy a mechanical keyboard? I've tried some basic Dell and so far they feel "sluggish", I can type faster on my laptop keyboard because I feel like "gliding between keys as I stroke"
Maybe I should try better ones?10
Random question to everyone out there:
Do you guys use a specific keyboard?
As in a mechanical or just the off the shelf keyboard? Do you invest in ergonomic ones or not?
I ask because I've been looking at ortholinear keyboards and was wondering if they work or if they're even worth it.8
My computer has gone to repair so for the meantime I'm computer-less. Which sucks big time because I have projects and tests coming up (not to mention personal projects and other stuff I've been asked to do) and I kinda have to leech off my friends and I don't like doing that, but, for now, it's what I'm doing. My old toshiba couldn't handle whatever I have to do, damn thing should be going through menopause or something. I wasn't a good owner LoL
I never really know if it'll boot during the first minute after I turn it on or if'll take it hours to do so, so I don't wanna risk it taking it with me to uni 😬 Not to mention it's still running Vista 😅
So my brother left to go to a friend's house until sunday so for the today and tomorrow I have access to the beast that is his computer ☺
I don't mean beast as a bad thing, it's a good computer, but it has an almost full SSD and I need to install a couple things so I can work on it :') (I'll uninstall them later and try to leave it as I found it LoL)
I can finally take a bit to play as well 😥 as I haven't been able to do so, as not only my PC is on repair, but I've been leaving uni late (after midnight - I valour my sleep OK). Luckily one of my house mates lets me use her PC after she goes to bed or her bf arrives to our house. The other day I managed to install steam and play a bit (she gave me permission to do so and I uninstalled them later) 😂 her computer almost died on me, it only has 4GB of RAM :') poor thing was over working to keep up LoL
Now, my brother's computer has a mechanical keyboard and besides the macro keys (they're on the far end of the keyboard, where you'd expect the shift/ctrl/caps lock/etc keys to be), I'm loving it tbh. It's a cheap keyboard, my mom didn't want to buy anything too fancy for him, but I like the sounds it makes 😅 may get one for myself (a mechanical keyboard I mean LoL. I really liked one I saw here on devRant that looked like a typewriter but it's WAY out of my league for now HaHa)
spilt coffee on my good mechanical keyboard and it fried something because it keeps typing random letters... I've been reduced back to working on a membrane keyboard and my God is it less satisfying...8
Is anyone else eagerly waiting for their x-bows keyboard? (New ergonomic and mechanical keyboard funded on kickstarter and indiegogo)4
Wanna buy a mechanical keyboard so much, but don't want to give up on macbook's trackpad. I'm so used to it that cannot switch back to mouse3
Suggestions for a good mechanical keyboard < $100.
I got a very cheap basic one for my home office and it's amazing to type on! It's very loud so I don't want to bring it to work and it was pretty cheap so I'm not sure how it will hold up to 8-10 hours of programming a day. I'd like to get one for the office, as a treat to myself for my promotion, but most of the suggestions I've gotten so far have been to drop $160 on Das Keyboard. I'd love to but I can't drop that much on a keyboard now.9
I just realized that my collegues don't like my new mechanical keyboard, while I like it very much. I told them that it's not that noisy, it's only a different sound. I demonstrated that typing on a not mechanical keyboard with brute force! Now they like it.

I want to find a certi good mechanical keyboard for working/typing in general but not top noisy cause i work with others in same room. Any good advice?6
so am I the only one who prefers these thin flat keyboards over those big clunky mechanical ones? because I just love how they feel and sound and I can't stand it when I have to type on a big keyboard :P4
You guys who code in an office, what kind of keyboard are you using? I'm starting a new job and I guess a mechanical wouldn't be appreciated?10
What are your favorite keyboard switches for your mechanical keyboard setup? I'm looking to get a Vortex Race 3. I currently own a keyboard with topre and mx blues. I'm leaning toward blues currently.1
Cherry mx blues are so loud and clicky, used to like them before bow I can't focus every time i hear that sound.Going back to membrane for a while.Cant even find a decent mx brown or clear keyboard for cheap6
Does anyone have any recommendations on a good cheap mechanical keyboard ? I'm a student so my budget is a little limited.3
Guys, do you think a mechanical keyboard is worth having for developers? If it is, which model would you recommend? Thanks!3
I'm trying to learn to touch type for probably the 5th time and I really want to get a mechanical keyboard to use at work and home.
I'm looking at the cheaper options on Amazon, up to £50. I'm not sure which switch type is best, whether I should be fitting o-rings to keep colleagues happy or whether I'm just over thinking this whole thing.
Your language has nulls. Would rather smash my own skull in with a mechanical keyboard with blue cherry switches so everyone can hear because omg how do you even get by.
