I assume asking for a raise is not an option?
And I've switched jobs two times in both times I had that "but I like it there" feeling, believe me you will like the new place if you choose carefully don't get held back cuz of that -
Condor323326yI kinda wonder how much I'm supposed to ask for to an employer as well. No answers here, just more questions :') and I'm in the same boat as well. I always undervalue my work. Sysadmin, 1.5k, 2k perhaps? … Yeah, fuck me.
Anyway, consider this comment to be one of those fancy pins :) -
LilDev1596y@gintko wonder how much ur making, i work in the Nederlands aswell and I just got a raise and I earn 2k before taxes with one year experience

@AlexDeLarge thanks man!
@refex why do you think that?
Like @ceee said this place is unbelievable. I've visited 40 countries including india and china. And it's always a joy getting home and breathe clean smog free air and have a view on lake zurich and the alps. With a population of only 7 million, direct democracy, best puplic transport, walkable and bikable cities, universal healthcare and a good social safty net this country is a fucking fairytale compared to other places in the world. But it's like everywhere, if you sell yourself short you have to suffer the consequences. -
Condor323326y@AlexDeLarge Yeah, I've scoured the interwebz for various IT salaries in Belgium and apparently it can go anywhere between 50k and 75k a year for network operators.. kinda strange though, since according to that website, programmers would be paid less than sysadmins. I always thought it to be the reverse :/
Thanks for the compliment by the way! -

Yes, you are definitely underpaid. This is about what you would earn working in a supermarket.
I'd say you should earn maybe about 6-7k/month, 40-42.5 h/week, depending on your qualification of course. Bit below 5.5k is definitely not justifiable imho

I live in zurich switzerland one of the most expensive places to live. And i work as a jack of all trades graphic ux/ui designer/copy writer/marketeer in IT security.
I earn about $3800 a month, but every salery calculator says I should earn above $7000. With a median salery of $9300. But this seems so much money and I suffer from low self esteem. So what should I do? (Quitting is not an option because I like it there)
