I think the knowledge you gained while trying to get something to work on Linux will benefit you for the rest of your career.
if you're not into that,just get an Ubuntu based linux, 50% gets easier

Can't help to ask, what were you trying to accomplish? Never had to look further than page one on any search engine really

@linuxxx I was trying to get audio on Chrome through HDMI using alsa on arch (yup ...I like to live dangerously)
