Kisle1106yNope java is still free. Only the Oracle jdk requires a license. Use openJDK and everything is nice.

This has been a hot topic in Java community - Java is still free, but Oracle will never (freely) support their release now beyond 6 months. So unless you want to pay silly money to Oracle, or go through a major upgrade cycle every 6 months, it basically forces all commercial software onto the OpenJDK.
