@Stuxnet FWIW, you can check the amount of impurities in water by measuring its resistance.. pure water has about 300k/cm while e.g. salt water has much less.. temperature is also a factor.

That being said, if there's chemicals in the tap water yet nobody gets sick from it, who cares? Nice to know how good or bad the water is, but if it's regarded as drinkable, does it really matter?

It tastes like chlorine and when I try to cook with it, it nearly makes me throw up.

I just drink water from plastic bottles and recycle them. Turned in over 150 bottles from a 2.5 week span lol

@Stuxnet I use filtered water in cooking here.. the tap water here tastes... off.. and I'm not taking any chances.

I just buy a few jugs of purified drinking water and cook with that.

I then refill them from a source that lacks chlorine, like tap water from my parents house.

I've got around 3 to 5 gallons of water ready to cook with at any time lol
