Seems like the "creator of the internet" is working together with MIT to create a new version of it.

Check it out yourselves.:

    That's quite promising actually! Hopefully it'll take off.

    @Condor hopefully, mate :)
    I see a lot of potential in it, as well.

    as far as I understand this is just a specification with an example implementation. Am I wrong?

    @-ANGRY-CLIENT- The idea looks good but it seems like the "trusted pod list" is centralised, so compromise that one and you're fucked yet again?!

    @irene please enlighten me as for how/why that would be the case?

    After doing some research looks like ipfs, zeronet or other blockchain related technologies are most promising to do some change. Might be because ico offerings make them independent from corporate/vc or they are driven by blockchain hype.

    @irene In this situation/case*

    @irene Monkeys really do have a proclivity for shitting on everything.

    I think Berners-Lee has jumped the shark and is disconnected from reality. His last idea with the "semantic web" has ended up as just some SEO shit.

    Here's what will happen if that thing should get ANY traction: users have their shit under their full control. $COMPANY comes along and says, if you want to use our services, give us access to $YOURSHIT. And people will do it for the exact same reasons why they have entered shit in Facebook. The only thing that will be new is one additional "yeah grab everything you like" dialogue.

    He really has failed to understand why the centralisation has happened in the first place.
