You do know jQuery is just JavaScript right?

If jquery just 'diapered' that would be pretty shitty. ;D It's a nice way to write javascript and has some decent features.

Of course, some of the features have made their way into css and but it still has it's uses. I think the syntax is a little easier than pure javascript but it was designed to be that way. To me, it isn't 'either/or' both have their uses.

@bhouston yes jquery is a library for javascript that extends it functions(or used to) i ask this because i see quite a fair amount of people nit knowing vanila javascript and relying heavily on jquery even to write a couple lines of code

@arcadesdude agreed 👍 good to know bouth, but not be completely dependent on jquery

@skytsunami To me this is just the equivalent of asking if HTML & CSS is better than frameworks like Bootstrap or Foundation. In the end it is the same. It is still HTML and CSS.

Don't get me wrong nothing against js or jQuery. I am just missing the point of the question: "is JavaScript better than JavaScript?"

@bhouston i am actually asking what people use more, and and if you only use one. Yes its still is java script just done a little different.

I meant in a way that i have meet other fellow devs that only know jquery and don't know how to do simple stuff with java script and feels like they are limiting them self's by relying too much on jquery.

I am all up to jquery, but also good to know vanila js
